I do believe there is a precedent. As I recall the South hated LIncoln even before the War went hot.

The constant, vile, often violent, denunciations of America’s President during the last nearly three years, all by the 2016 losers and their major media mouthpieces, is without any precedent in the nation’s history.

Now that's a fact. If you don't believe it, play the replay of Chuck Todd's vitriol this past Sunday.

f I was Trump I would want a trial! Finally he would be able to cross examine !!!

The senate not having a trial would provide the Dems and deep state cover that it was rigged going into the election because Trump would have been convicted

...already figured out they can’t beat the President at the ballot box. Impeachment is their last desperate chance to rid themselves of the man who has so effectively exposed their self-enrichment and multiple sell-outs of the American people.

Lowlife 'elites' unmasked!

Doesn’t matter. They will be able to say we impeached him, vote him out of office.

Half of American voters elected a god in 2008, who told his mindless believers that America needs to be fundamentally transformed.

In the absence of any action whatsoever in three years taken in response to their crimes against America, his heathen soldiers keep marching on.

No occupant of the White House before the current one has faced even a small fraction of the unrelenting groundless accusations.

Democrats and their media pups will face a very bad ending.

Chief Justice John Roberts would preside over the Senate trial and my guess is that he would decide what evidence can be presented. We know that this guy is comprised by the Left so I think Trump’s hands would be tied.

Just the threat that all of the “whistle blower’s” sources will have to be revealed in examination by the Republicans will cause him to refuse to testify.

Democrats will simply make a new rule that cross-examination isn’t allowed.

the actual, for real “whistleblower” in this whole circumstance is the President and this retributive show trial being orchestrated in the House is about Federal retribution upon a whistleblower (President Trump) for having shone the light of day upon their treasonous, seditious conniving

Why miss the obvious? The Senators and Congresspersons running for President who voted for impeachment are guilty of the same charge as President Trump is alleged; using their office (impeachment vote) to gain personal advantage (in election). What else did he miss? Well, VP Joe Biden in a video bragging about how he had his son’s Ukrainian prosecutor fired by withholding State Dept. funds with Hillary. Say, isn’t that the ‘crime’ alleged against the President? So where’s the impeachment of Biden and Obama as well?

I’m sick of hearing about the popular vote.

Trump won 30 states, the beast won 20 states.

Over and out.

As though Mitt The Loser, could lead anybody anywhere.

I campaigned for him in 2012, here in Utah and in Nevada. I wish I had all those days and hours back in my life. He is a diabolical human being.

I’m on a one woman crusade to get Jim Matheson, a Democrat, to run against him. At least Matheson has enough brains to fear the voters.

Impeachment? The Dems must not have much of a case as all the Sunday evening news shows were preempted for FOOTBALL!

Just finished reading the details of the Johnson impeachment. Interesting stuff... and by all accounts, was unnecessary and actually unConstitutional overall. The Republicans were a bit too ferverous in the wake of the Civil War victory. They passed a law forcing the new (Democrat) President to keep the previous administration's cabinet members... with the focus being on the Secretary of War... who literally barricaded himself in his office to avoid being replaced by Johnson's preferred choice. At that a time, the ten Southern States were not fully readmitted to the Congress yet, so the Democrat President faced an overwhelming GOP majority... But by 1926, the Supreme Court recognized that the President should be able to have his own cabinet choices, and that the "Tenure of Office Act" was unConstitutional and that it would have destroyed the entire concept of 3 co-equal branches.

(And the "Radical Republicans" were called that for being too aggressive in their zeal to end slavery... sooooo radical!!)

The impeachment of Clinton was likewise mostly crap. His many crimes and treasonous acts were ignored, and they focused on sex and lying about it... hardly the kind of thing that endangers a nation.

Nixon's impending impeachment was a slam dunk, and appropriate (stealing the opposition's election playbook for political advantage is clearly a crime), so he ducked out before the Congress could do its (actually legitimate) impeachment work.

Obama coulda/shoulda/woulda faced impeachment, for literally dozens of major acts against the nation, but the Evil Party and the Weakling Party worked together to enable him instead. :/
