If You Liked the Mueller Investigation, You’ll Love Impeachment (wow what a great piece!)
Frontpagemag.com ^ | 9/27/19 | Daniel Greenfield

Stop me if this sounds familiar.

An intelligence operative backed by a Clinton lawyer accuses Trump of an inappropriate relationship with a former Soviet bloc country leading to an investigation and calls for everything from imprisonment to impeachment. The political half of Washington D.C. is muttering quietly, “Didn’t we do this already?”

After spending years accusing Trump of working with the Russians to undermine Hillary, they’re accusing him of working with the Ukrainians to undermine Biden. If Warren pulls far enough ahead, the Democrats will accuse Trump of working with the Poles or the Latvians to undermine her campaign.

The impeachment push is the same discredited scam that the Democrats had pushed on the country at the cost of millions of dollars, years of legislative stalemate, ruined lives and fake news. It’s like getting a scam email from a Nigerian prince, turning him down, and then receiving another email from the same address, except he now claims to be a Zambian prince, but still wants you to cash the same check.

He keeps going and I don’t know how.

He keeps going because of our support. We have to keep letting him know that we still support him.

I was afraid that he would be neutralized by Stockholm syndrome once he entered the toxic swamp, the way that so many of our good conservative leaders are brought down once they go to DC. But President Trump has so far resisted. We help him resist by communicating our support.

Treason is punishable by the death penalty. The thing that sets treason and sedition apart is “Oath of Allegiance”.

Schiff and others have sworn an oath of allegiance to the United States. If they are found guilty of conspiring against the United States or aiding and abetting its enemies in a violent action against it, then they can be sentenced to death.Even if they should be convicted of treason, a death penalty is not mandatory. Punishment ‘up to death’ is permitted.

If Schiff and others taking the oath can be charged with treason, they can still be charged with sedition because sedition has a lesser burden to prove. So if any of them beats a treason charge, they can still be sent to prison for a long, long time on sedition.

People such as say Michael Moore who have never taken an oath of allegiance can be charged with sedition if they are caught say organizing violent protests against the United states. But they can’t be charged with treason. That’s just an example.

People such as George Soros can be charged with treason because he is a naturalized American citizen. All naturalized citizens must take an oath of allegiance to the United States. Again, this is just an example.

People often confuse treason and sedition. Thanks for bringing it up as it helps people to understand better the differences.

There are also other charges for conspiracy, subversion, etc. It the current crop of radical democrats can’t be convicted of treason or sedition, there are still other serious charges they can be convicted of. But it takes a really good team of prosecutors to get them nailed because unfortunately these people are equipped with snaky lawyers that know how to twist the law or choose judges to get their clients off.

It’s like getting a scam email from a Nigerian prince, turning him down, and then receiving another email from the same address, except he now claims to be a Zambian prince, but still wants you to cash the same check. The Democrats could barely be bothered to shake up the scam they’re once again pulling on America.

Ain’t it the truth...

It took him a bit but now the president understands the left better than any of us now. He has gotten both barrels - I suspect he is like me - pissed

Consider how the Moeller investigation played out.

It lasted for years and gave the Democrats plausibility to argue that the president had committed obstructions of justice. No matter that they were incongruously arguing that the president was inexplicably obstructing his own exoneration, a great part of the American electorate doesn't go that deeply into these things. Some damage was done.

During these years when the Mueller investigation hung-fire, the president was virtually hamstrung in effecting his policy objectives legislatively and it was only through his personal determination that he was able to accomplish prodigious policy accomplishments through regulation. Case in point, the diversion of funds to build the wall. Trump was also able to affect domestic policy reforms through foreign policy such as tariffs and threat of tariffs against Mexico to reduce the flow of illegal immigrants across the southern border.

In the battle to win the election of 2020 there are two considerations: 1) energize your own base and discourage your opponent's base; 2) win the all-important independents who often decide elections -in this case with emphasis on educated, suburban females. No doubt this impeachment gambit will energize the base on both sides. The danger for both sides is in the timing. When will the hollowness of the charge be exposed, will it take years for justice to be made public as it did in the Moeller investigation? Or will the president die by a thousand cuts?

Who was in control of the Moeller investigation? Obviously, Moeller was and he, knowing that there was no collusion with Russia, quite deliberately delayed his exoneration of Trump until after the midterm elections.

Who will be in control of the Ukrainegate hoax? By all indications, the House Democrats and the media. The house Democrats have planned this Ukrainegate hoax. We know that because the letter of complaint was written in lawyerly language and, more obviously, because the rules concerning a hearsay complaint were liberalized just-in-time to qualify this hearsay complaint made by a Soros stooge.

Is it not logical to suppose that the Democrats have more planned than just the liberalization of the complaint process and the complaint itself?

That should be pondered in connection with the ability of the Democrats to prolong the process and to go fishing with subpoenas and so forth. Why otherwise would Nancy Pelosi have purported to transform this affair into an impeachment inquiry even before she had read either the transcript or the so-called "whistleblower" complaint? I think step three in the plan is to subpoena the administration to death, tag each witness with innuendo, exaggerate and prevaricate any possible impeachable peccadillo and run the show up to November 2020 or some other opportune moment.

Who else might have control over the proceedings and over the perception which is ladled out to the American public? The administration, the House Republicans, and the Republican Senate. Is there anyone reading this who believes that anyone of these three entities will mount an effective counter charge? Only a fool will believe that the truth will emerge or that the truth will emerge in time.

The administration had better put up someone better than Giuliani to fight this fight. The House Republicans should put up somebody better than McCarthy. The Senate should put up anybody, just anybody for God's sake.

It is a great article, but I part with Greenfield here:

The Ukraine scam will be used to similarly claim that Biden might have won if it wasn’t for the Ukraine.

This effort was not just about Trump. It was a "two-birds-with-one-stone" scenario. The left was terrified that Biden would get the nomination. He would have been the most disastrous of all of the candidates. By inventing this outrage, they could dump Biden and target Trump for another multi-year investigation. But as Greenfield mentions, this time, the Trump administration was light on their feet by declassifying the transcript and complaint immediately.

Trump and Barr should consider this a successful dry run and declassify and release the Mueller nonsense as well.

Yes, indeed! The real target is us.

If they could do this to Trump, his family, and associates imagine what they can do to an ordinary American.

Who was in control of the Mueller investigation? Obviously, Mueller was...

I completely disagree. Mueller was a figurehead, nothing more. It was patently obvious in his hearings that he had virtually nothing to do with the investigation and was completely clueless of its findings.
