This assumes of course assumes that the spines of the senate remain firm which is too much to ask.
What spines? Republicans don’t have spines.
If it makes it to the Senate, conviction is a very likely outcome.
“. . . the Republicans will vote unanimously, along with a small number of Democrats, to not convict the President.”
Including Romney? I don’t think so. Romney can’t forgive or forget that Trump won the election, something Romney couldn’t do. Nor can Romney forgive or forget that Trump interviewed him for Sec of State and then picked someone else. For Romney, this is personal, IMHO.
IMO, that ain't gonna happen. Senate Republicans are for the most part, spineless turds. No better than homeless poop on the streets of San Francisco.
That actually works to our advantage.
No doubt that there are 20 RINO bastards that want him gone. But they know the base loves him so they won’t risk their renomination/election.
Romney and Murkowski would be the only ones I’d be worried about. Joe Manchin (D) probably votes no.
I would definitely not expect though what the letter writer surmises about charges against democrats, won’t happen. The “trial” would be short.
