'This brave young woman essentially sent a message to the future'
Senior editor of the Atlantic and NPR news analyst Jack Beatty commended Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg for sending a powerful "message to the future" on climate change.
"I think her jaccuse will echo through the years," Beatty told host David Folkenflik.
Folkenflik said the young activist "drove conservatives, Republicans nuts" and that she's making a valid point because she and others her age stand to inherit a world affected by climate change. Beatty agreed and went further in praising her vision.
"This brave young woman essentially sent a message to the future: We care, you should care," Beatty said. "And when she said, you're talking about fairy tales of eternal economic growth'in 2018 a report from 13 federal agencies warned that failure to rein in warming could shave 10 percent off the country's economy in this century."
"In other words, she's right."
Beatty noted that the governments of leading industrial nations did not make any commitments on reducing pollution at the United Nations.
"China, the biggest polluter, made no new commitments at the summit, the U.S. was quiet, other countries said little," Beatty said.
Thunberg grabbed headlines for sailing to New York to plead her case at the United Nations Climate Action Summit. She even drew the attention of President Donald Trump, who said, "She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future."
Thunberg sent the media into a tizzy when she changed her Twitter bio to reflect Trump's sarcastic comment, a move reporters declared an "A-plus troll of the president.
Babylon Bee - right?
she is a nutjob
I’ll give it until next week.
Move over David Hogg, this girl grabbed your spotlight.
That is so good.
Sure, but did Leroy give her back those shoes? :P
Some Swede will eventually turn in a social behavior complaint and some judge will have to request an evaluation. Her parents will move her out of Sweden, to avoid that.
It will haunt Greta for the rest of her life. The damage her parents have done will leave deep scars.
uh... please remind me again who is she? And what was said. So many shouting, accusing. I am trying to understand people who talk in a soft voice, and carry a Big Stick, like Donald Trump did in the United Nations. THAT will be remembered for a long time.
She will last as long as the teen heart throbs did in the old Teen Beat magazines of the 1970s. about three issues, then be forgotten when a new heart throb shows up.
How utterly appropriate that the enviro-whackos rally around a hysterical, psychologically ill teenage girl as their champion. Thats precisely what they are.
Does Jack Beatty seriously think this poor kid is anything other than a trained monkey for the usual globalist suspects?
“I think her jaccuse will echo through the years,” Beatty told host David Folkenflik.
As a meme.

Nice.
I have been having nightmares of this little girl. She is like one of those little toy monkeys clapping those brass cymbals all around my bed at night. Sometimes when I’m half asleep, just waking up she’s right in my face and I can hear her say “how DARE you!” and “I will NEVER forgive you!” to be honest it was only two nights that this happened to me but I dred it happening again.
Because we are all about polluting the air and water.....lying sack of excrement. The only part that got us going is the obvious propaganda of using a child to further the left's agenda. Besides, they've done it before...in Germany,,,with the same kid...
