House Democratic leaders are eyeing a fast-paced investigation into the possible impeachment of President Trump, instructing the committees handling the probe to wrap up their findings within weeks in hopes of concluding before the holiday season.
Some Democratic lawmakers and aides said Thursday, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe private deliberations, that they believed impeachment articles could be ready for a House vote around Thanksgiving.

Don’t bet on it anything is possible with these bastards and the anti trumpers!!!
I am still not convinced this will survive the next “major news” that is unrelated to it. The Democrats wildly swing from one pet cause to another—they are _very_ emotional, like little children.
The next bright shiny object will have them (and their mass media friends) chasing off in another direction.
Example: another mass shooting brings them back to gun grabbing mania—need Republican votes so they shelve impeachment
Example: foreign policy crisis (who knows, could be anything) gets them doing war cries and wailing for “national unity”
Example: “Climate change” gets them riled up again—dead whales wash up on shore, whatever...”
Folks here can think of more examples.
I think we err if we think of Democrats as mature adults with long-term goals.
Nevertrump. You know im pretty sure I coined nevertrump way way back when in the Cruz is lord days.
They have nothing to offer and know it. The Dems, IMO, will drag the investigations and hoopla through the 2020 election time. I believe they will be loud and crazy the whole time.
The fact that we know all there is to know about history doesn't mean we are old. However, I did watch TV sitting on the floor as a tot as Ike was nominated at the 1952 GOP convention.
I proudly serve here as a Boomer Know-it-all. A tough job but somebody has to do it and take the flak.
I wonder what the switch board traffic is like, and what kind of percentage of calls are coming in, and polls that each Legislature is tallying in their own quest of testing the waters. I would imagine the telephone lines are burning up, and people are getting busy signals. And I would say MOST are hoping they will just get back to passing bills and helping solve Americas problems.

IF they have to they’ll run over Biden to get to Trump. Biden is old and expendable.
If they think they can do it and get away with it, they will try.
What would hurt them far, far more, is the handful of Blue Dogs and maybe 20 swing-state moderates either voting against impeachment or abstaining.
Anything less than a party-line vote would give Trump a chance of turning the House.
I was born during the Eisenhower administration, but just barely. JFK was sworn in a couple of weeks before my first birthday.
They aren’t gonna vote on shit by Thanksgiving.
They know that they will never get 287 votes in the affirmative for impeachment...
I think the opposite is going to happen. He will gain stature.
This!!!!!!!!!
I confess, born in 1946.
Was 2 feet away on the curb from candidate for the nomination JFK as he passed my sister, grandmother and me in a convertible after we watched him speak. But I was still a Republican even then. Just was crazy about politics.
I met RFK at Disneyland the day before he was killed. I was eight.
Good Batman reference.
So, acquittal in February based on Slick.
Have the Senate hold the trial and have Judge Jeanine Pirro do the cross-examination.
Why are you sure that all Republicans in the Senate will vote not to convict? There are some number of Republican Senators who would love to get rid of Trump. I would worry that the Democrats and a bunch of squishy Republicans would vote to convict. Romney and Murkowski come to mind, for instance.
