Most likely the CIA was all up in their buttocks one way transferring back real time and historical data and activity.
Further most likely they had the ability to establish connections where a CIA operator could issue commands and do whatever on the infected computer. This activity is all logged. The scale of the CIA network is massive (like the whole world) if you don't know that MAC address maybe its difficult to track down the data, with it however you begin to expose the whole network of abuse president Obama was engaged in operating.
There is probably evidence connecting the MAC address with the access log on the special workstations that can query the database. There is a workstation in the Whitehouse thats why Devin Nunes ran up there that one day.
The only way you can know to enter a particular MAC or IP address is if you know its been infected with CIA malware and been given that address.
Its hard evidence of illegal spying and by who or at least what username (someone could be using another person credentials, but at that level both people screwed) - Like for example Brennan using Susan Rice's credentials setting her up for the fall and possibly explaining that weird email.
The kicker probably Hillary's illegal email server - The CIA most likely had that machine compromised too - which means the CIA has all the activity - and, and the customized set of scripts specifically tailored for having total insight to any digital traffic originating or destined for a device she had or those in her entourage (Think co-traveller)
This explains the need to destroy the devices with hammers they need to be physically altered to the point where the MAC address probably printed on some label on the circuit board, and the ROM where it is burnt into is obliterated
The trail is all there in that mothership database you just need to know the right addresses to start to unlock the pattern of activity via the systems logs and the data they swiped from the machines, the record of activity the kept and the suite of hacking tools marshelled against them. It will show a very deliberate and customized effort to spy on many people by president Obama.
The IP/MAC address of the server in Trump tower, any of Hillary blackberries/mobile devices, Hillary's email server and apparently these DNC servers. Those are key. I also think Sharyl Atkinson's (former CBS reporter) server would be interesting to look at.
