The DNI head is caught by trying to protect the law for legit whistleblowers while allowing this fake his/her day in court. Also disappointed the Reps appear to have left the room. They should have stayed and supported this guy by their presence...

You're right - on every count... we should have done better.

Everything Schiff is saying can be applied to what they did to Trump with the concocted “Russia Russia Russia” report

So here's my read on this mess, from the eyes of a commoner watching the Socialists.

The Democrats are accusing Trump of using his power, and holding back aid to Ukraine, to investigate Biden, and they say that's illegal, because they are running against each other in 2020.

1: Even if that was true, and they haven't proven that, we DO have visual/audio evidence that Vice-President Biden, actually DID extort the Ukrainians to fire their Prosecutor. Normal thought for average Americans is....why is it okay for Biden........but you get to impeach Trump?

2: If it's illegal to spy/investigate your opponent right before an election, isn't that the same thing the Socialists are doing with their 5/6 committees that continue to look for dirt, on their political opponent Trump, after the Russia hoax fell through? I've used this supposition in several discussions, with people, on the Ukraine mess.....and it's interesting to see their reaction, when they look at it that way. Even when they respond that it's the Socialist's official job as Congressmen.....when I shoot back that it's also a President's official job to want crimes investigated that hurt the US....they go silent.

3: And about the stupid extortion charge? Why would Trump even need to hold money back for cooperation, like old Joe? We have a Treaty between Ukraine, signed in Kiev, by Slick Willie, ratified by the Senate, that says Ukraine WILL cooperate in matters of criminal activities.....and the main contact person is the Attorney General of the US (Barr) or anyone he designates.

I just think this mess is going to flop, BIG TIME, just like the Russian lies.

the wb has to be someone who worked closely with the trump administration ... the president has not been served well by his team in flushing out the leakers and anonymous traitors ...

Schiff and his co-conspirators so want a banana republic. Maybe he should just disappear off the sidewalk, along with select others.

There was NO truth in his characterisation of the transcript.

Over and over and over and over again. And never once is it called out or rejected. Spit!

No....The whistleblower is just the courier. What he submitted was a handoff.

I still suspect Comey who JUST changed his mind on impeachment.....and said it should be a go. I'll find the article. I think it's telling.

It’s all about what they (the Democrats, mostly) assume. They assume that credible = truth. They assume that the evidence came from a real whistleblower with first-hand information. They assume that the DNI or the WH were attempting to cover up this transcript. It’s easy when you can assume and the Media never makes you prove it.

OTOH, we have a tape of Joe Biden describing his strong-arm tactics with the Ukraine in minute detail. And what does the Media say? “There is no proof”

1984 anyone?

What’s this act with the “Whistleblower” identity. Why doesn’t the media expose him or her...like right now. Why doesn’t he or she identify themselves. You would think he or she would want to stand by their findings with dignity and being proud of their effort to bring a POTUS down. Nope...they are hiding in a closet somewhere. But...I have news for them, whoever they are, your name your identity, your everything will soon be publicly disclosed....one way or another!!! Let’s just say I do not envy you...period!!!

My take away:

Dems want to impeach Trump over this for 2 reasons.

1. The whistle blower’s complaint was subject to executive privilege because it covered a call between our president and another head of state.

2. Trump wanted another head of state to investigate a possible crime that is subject to US jurisdiction.

I’d have to look at the breakdown of the committee, but the majority party always has at least a majority of seats. The questioning usually alternates by seniority (on the committee) until you get down to the junior members where the extra seats usually dictate that the questioning finishes with a string of members from the majority party.
