Just read this on FB: “In a way Trump was instrumental in it. Ukraine got new leaders after a recent election. He ran on an anti-corruption agenda. Promised to weed out and investigate corruption. Trump withheld the standard welfare check until we knew their actual intentions and wanted other countries to split the cost. Democrats went bananas because they promised Ukraine the money would be in the mail if they covered up and kept quiet about the Democrat’s crooked dealings. Ukraine thought Trump America was mad at them. The Deep State and intel were keeping them away from Trump. Trump sent Giuliani to check it out. Yes, I understand that, but the tweet I referenced above was from TODAY. I presume it took place at UN. The Washington Post reporter had to either make it up completely or there is a shred of truth.

Correct. Trump said something that may or may not have meant something to the listeners. If it was miscontrued, then the whistle blower’s take on what was being proposed will be the gospel regardless of what the transcript may state.
