Well, the days of Scott Walker running the state are long gone. Thats regrettable.
Former Democratic Rep. Beto ORourke, his real name is Robert Francis, went nuclear on the gun control issue. He wants to outright confiscate firearms, specifically so-called assault weapons. Why? Well, to liberals, theyre scary looking. Thats about it. He wants to confiscate the private property of law-abiding Americans. Its illegal. Its not going to happen at the federal level anytime soon because a) Bob isnt going to be president let alone the 2020 Democratic nominee, and b) its a losing issue. What can happen though are anti-gun policies that are just as shoddy being enacted at the state level, which is where anti-gunners have been concentrating their efforts and its yielding results.
In Wisconsin, Democratic Gov. Tony Evers is mulling a mandatory buyback of AR-15s in the state, which is confiscation. Its what Australia did. If people didnt turn over their guns, they were slapped with legal charges (via ABC 27 WKOW):

19 April, 1775.
Are we about to witness history repeating itself?
Tony Evers please come in person; and knock.
Everybody knows what the Supreme Court will do with this one so why waste time with it?
:-) How many people realize the whole thing started over firearms confiscation?
Better yet, just walk on in without knocking because you own my house just as much as you own my gun.
I’ll be waitin’ for you...
Try this, and the anti-Walker protests at the state capitol will look like the teddy bears’ picnic.
Might as well fast track a SCOTUS ruling.
Apparently not enough.

Can the state pass a background check? What information would be on the Wisconsin government’s form 4473?
How can the guvment buy back what was never sold?
Correct. Always sticks in my craw when cities have “buybacks”.
This should maximize Trump support in WI.
Wis gov says: “Quartz? We don’t need no steenkin’ quartz.”
Why can’t they call it confiscation? This is not a buyback. It’s coersion.
"The Gunpowder Incident occurred on April 20, 1775 in Williamsburg, Virginia when the British Army under Lord Dunmore advanced to confiscate gunpowder stores. Just as in Lexington and Concord the colonial militia began to muster when they heard of Dunmores movements. Patrick Henry led his militia to confront the British." https://thehistoryjunkie.com/gunpowder-incident/
Hey Wisconsin. How do you like the politicians you elected?
