(CNN)When President Donald Trump admitted this weekend that in a July phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky he did, in fact, raise "corruption" accusations against his 2020 political rival Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden -- he effectively turned up the volume on calls for his own impeachment.
"We don't want our people like Vice President Biden and his son creating to the corruption already in the Ukraine," Trump told reporters in describing the call. (There is no evidence of wrongdoing by either Joe or Hunter Biden.) And Monday, sources told CNN that White House officials are considering releasing a transcript of Trump's call with Zelensky.
Now House Intelligence Committee Chairman, Adam Schiff, normally reticent about impeachment, says that if a whistleblower complaint that was revealed last week shows Trump tying military aid to Ukraine to Ukraine probing the Bidens, "we may very well have crossed the Rubicon" on impeachment. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi spoke of "a grave new chapter in lawlessness."

President Trump has the respect of normal people and that’s all he needs. Why would he want respect from the rabid lowlifes on the left? These losers think they are entitled to be our rulers. I wouldn’t even piss on them if they were on fire. Urine is too good to waste on them.

dealing with unions , tradesmen , difficult crooked politicians , scheduling and complex cities that people can’t even begin to understand
this is why getting into politics is peanuts for him and it’s very easy all the other things he’s done in his life are way more challenging and complicated and fickle

There’s another difference: Nixon was overthrown by the FBI and CIA. Trump was not, at least not yet.

They still don’t have a high crime or misdemeanor to impeach Trump on.
“Obama was Nixon, spying on the campaign of his rival.”
Surely you don’t think this was unusual. Politicians have been spying on their opponents since the beginning of elections in the US. And now it’s even become automatic. It’s done all the time and they make no effort to cover it up.
Obama is nothing like Nixon. He took an operational situation and ran it into the ground with failing decisions and continuing to get people killed in foreign wars expanding them just like the 60’s.
Nixon sent Kissinger to sign an agreement for dissolving the war in Vietnam signed on January 23, 1973 along with opening trade relations with China while he negotiated a treaty with Russian leader Leonid I. Brezhnev to limit strategic nuclear weapons.
Obama has also dissolved a lot of foreign trust and has opened the door for further nuclear proliferation concerning Iran and Pakistan in particular. Obama was also anti-Israeli and his problems working with Netanyahu almost destroyed those relations with our only consistent ally in the middle east. Obama was a presidential screw up. He did nothing well except alienate us from our allies, supported our enemies, and help clobber our economy.

I wonder how Nixon would have done if he had won in 1960. Would he have handled Khrushchev, Castro, the deteriorating situation in Indochina, and the issues involving civil rights better than JFK?
We might not have had the Vietnam quagmire if the Nixon/Kennedy debates had not been televised.
