Environment activist Greta Thunberg made a fiery appearance at the United Nations Climate Summit on Monday where she broke down in tears while furiously scolding international delegates.
'I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean. Yet you all come to us for hope. How dare you. You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words,' the 16-year-old Swedish activist thundered in her speech at the Climate Action Summit 2019 in New York.
Thunberg was seen at the UN headquarters Monday morning with an enraged expression on her face as US President Donald Trump upstaged her entrance by walking in behind her flanked by news reporters.
The UN summit convened to have nations make plans to confront global warming and rising fossil fuel emissions.

I don’t remember any of those drills in my early schooling. Our assemblies was to warn us of stray BLASTING CAPS!
Only later were we given “duck and cover” training in small rural or mining towns. Nearest towns that would have “got it” were Roswell NM, White Sands, El Paso, Clovis, Albuquerque.

I heard someone today say that this is the worst government misinformation program in the history of the world.
I DISAGREE.
The worst was when they tried to convince US that hiding under the open desk was the way to withstand a nuclear attack.
I do remember pictures & ‘stories’ from the days of the 1946 A Blasts where the sailors on the ships observing the blasts were told to button their cuffs and collars and turn their back to the explosion.
I went to USN boot camp in 1956 and it took my FIRST ABC indoctrination class to completely swear off believing ANYTHING an ‘adult’ tried to tell me.
FWIW it is worth in 1957 I went aboard one of the ships that was an ‘observer’ in 1946 and in 1960 went aboard another ship that took part in the 1954 tests,
I have not knowingly suffered any ill effects but it is hard to believe that BOTH those ships were ‘decontaminated’ completely...especially after the ‘asbestos scare’ hit.
I say ‘scare’ because when the regulations started kicking in, it was costing more to ‘deasbestos’ a building than tearing it down and putting up the new one.

I believe I read where she is slightly autistic.
I have no problem that some child is passionate about what she believes. I DO have a problem that adults put her on stage, leaders of the world give her that stage and listen to her, and adults broadcast her message around the world.
Back in the early 70’s I wrote President Nixon a letter - most probably a mass classroom assignment. Asking him to do something about pollution!
Even got a letter back from him - which my mom framed and still in a box somewhere! But - that is the level of involvement that a child should have.

Her passion would be better used describing the welfare state and how it go to where it is now...
For 50+ years I have thought that Haiti would be a good relocation destination for the UN! Not only would it boost the Haitian economy but...., far fewer UN personnel would choose to be in the UN's employ (and New Yorkers would celebrate the increased availability of parking in the city?)
