U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- On Monday morning, 16 September, at about 4 a.m., a gunfight erupted at the end of the cul-de-sac of White Oak Ct. SE, in Conyers, Georgia.
According to reports, three masked intruders approached three residents of the home. One of the intruders produced a handgun and fired shots at the residents. Then numerous shots were fired. At least one witness described it as an exchange of shots.
During the gunfight, the three masked intruders were all hit. One died at the scene, two others were fatally wounded and died at the hospital. From www.cnn.com:
Another neighbor ran out to help after he heard what sounded like five shots from a handgun, he said.
“Then I heard somebody have an assault rifle,” Carlos Watson told WSB. “And it was a slew of shots that came out.”
The homeowner, a man reported to be about 50 years old, called 911 immediately after the gunfight. Neighbors say he owns a semi-automatic rifle. From wsbtv.com:

I talked to a retired police officer. He said his first thought, on reading of the gunfight, was the homeowner had a shotgun or a semi-automatic rifle. He opined it was very likely the demise of these three young men prevented hundreds, if not thousands of future crimes.

I thought one of them was his mother. Reports have been vague, details sparse.
The defender called 911 right away.
The article only reports what the neighbors and police reported.
A Glock handgun was found under one of the masked intruders.
A lot of shots were fired after the first five. Presumably, they sounded louder and faster.
There are the three dead masked intruders.
They imply a rifle more than they imply a handgun.
Then there are the neighbors reporting the homeowner was known to own a semi-automatic rifle.
Lots of smoke here, but no definitive ID as of present.
I agree, it sounds like there was something else happening. It reads as though they were awake and waiting for them at 4:00 AM.
Ask ally everything except single shot bolt action rifles.
Which will be described by the MSM as “sniper rifles”.

Another consideration is the false sense of confidence these kids get playing first person shooter video games.
A simulator without real life field training doesn’t translate into expertise.
And you don’t get to respawn after taking a bullet in real life.

They died because they were street turds.
Every child is a wild animal that needs to be trained to become part of responsible civilization.
These young men were never trained to be responsible.
I would bet on it.
They were very likely encouraged to be irresponsible.
I don’t care if he shot them with a BB gun, a Barret .50 caliber rifle or a 155mm howitzer, he stopped them from hurting his family and self. The type of gun he used is irrelevant. He saved his family and society in the future a lot of aggravation by removing these parasites from the herd, he did good.

Those pushing for a ban on semi-automatic rifles claim they are never used in self-defense.
You got it. In California, guns are supposed to be registered. In Minnesota, they don't need to be.
My read of the 2nd Amendment doesn't see any limitations on what I own or dictate registration. I'm just tired of the media's obscession with my evil "assault weapon" (varmint rifle or semi-automatic handgun), and no attention to what the perp was attacking me and mine with, nor where they obtained it. In the media's eyes, disarming me (who bothered to go through background checks, waiting periods and training) is more important than finding out that the perp was using a stolen handgun, illegally bought, perhaps traceable to a mis-labeled cargo container from a Chinese ship.
It also irks me that they care so little about my well-being and so much about their agenda, that they don't know the difference between a semi-automatic varmint rifle and a fully-automatic military rifle (Beto!) - not that the 2nd amendment would deny me the latter.
