[ But here’s the thing. Those signs are all appearing in front of dollar stores and fast-food joints. ]

That’s pretty much true around me for 11 years.

Unless you happen to be a machinist. There’s a few of those.

“The closed factories are still closed.”

Were they open when Trump as sworn in? I don’t think they were. Those jobs were lost looong before Trump thought of running.

The question becomes how has the State done since Jan 20 2017? What was the jobless rate then vs now? How much have salaries increased?

Passage of the USMCA would help this situation a great deal, IMO.

The devastating effects of NAFTA have not entirely been addressed, despite President Trump’s executive actions.

Maybe. My neck of the woods is heavy working-class Democrat. Most are D not because they’re socialists. They’re D because grandpa was D. And yes, they will vote against their best interests. It’s very frustrating.

You are absolutely right. Most of the factories near me have been closed for 20 years or more. And now those factories have been leveled, or are just sitting there rusting.

Trump is the ONLY president in those last 20 years who is trying to do something about that. He is cutting regulations, and confronting China over its unfair trade policies.

But folks I’m talking to are impatient, and perhaps unfairly so. They went for Trump in 2016 because they wanted to see the factories reopen. Illegal immigration, and Hillary’s many crimes, all that was secondary.

Fine so you think by voting for a Liberal those factories are going to reopen? None of the other things Trump has done for PA don’t matter? The dropping unemployment rate, increased wages....?

No offense but just how f’n stupid are the folks in PA?

What aspects of NAFTA most concerned you? What does USMCA do to address those concerns?

Buzz off and go away globalist. I am an American firster. Our trade deficit with almost every country is at record levels. Record level with Mexico and China. I for one know why this is bad for our country.

How did the rat’s get the governor’s seat in Wi again? Why do Republicans have such a hard time holding on to seats that should be theirs? Not a new phenomenon. I have spent decades looking at mindlessly bland Republican campaign propaganda. No issues, no strong feelings, photos of the candidate with family, nothing that would make one want to vote Republican. The GOP is terrified of ‘being contentious’ and ‘looking undignified’. The GOP, party of not just the stupid but the gutless stuffed shirts.

Well, as President Trump has emphasized NAFTA incentivized off-shoring of jobs/companies and left over 700 empty factories/plants across our country. NAFTA held down wages and failed to protect the best interest, or rights if you will, of workers. Mexico seemed to be the greatest beneficiary, thus all of the relocation of production south of our border.

USMCA, OTOH, appears to be a magnet to draw companies back to make things in America and improve working conditions, raise wages and enhance working conditions.

USMCA also would immensely help our agricultural community.
I even saw a photo of Ag Secretary Perdue standing with all of his fellow former Ag Secretaries a couple days ago, all of whom endorsed and encouraged passage of USMCA,

From what I’ve heard and read, USMCA enjoys broad bipartisan support and that the only obstacle/obstruction to bringing it up for a vote on the House floor rests in the hands of Pelosi.

Generally, my views are based upon what President Trump has spoken out on for decades.

Hopefully, Governors like Wolf and Evers won’t impede USMCA—and, most importantly, voters in PA & Wisconsin will take all of these factors into consideration.

If these states actually lost the most factory jobs in the past year, it definitely is NOT President Trump’s fault.
