Manchin is smart, he couldn’t beat Trump in 2020, but when Trump is term limited out in 2024, that’s when the Dems really have a shot. Anyone who is truly SERIOUS about winning the White House with an ounce of political instinct knows they can’t win it in 2020...
Smart ones know 2024 is the real game... I could see Manchin being the candidate in 2024, especially if the Dems nominate a whackadoo leftist like Pocahontas or Bernie this time around... and they get TROUNCED, and believe me, they will get TROUNCED if they end up the nominee...
The Dems have gone complete whackadoo left, until they realize this someone like Manchin has no shot at the nomination, if they dems go whacky left in 2020 and wind up getting clobbered, the more reasonable Dems will likely come to the fore in 2024, when there is a real and historically most likely, shot for them to win.

That’s why I think “they” (whoever “they” are?) might let Hellary run again. The Rats get their trouncing and they get the benefit of finishing of the Clinton’s once and for all. Not having to wear the Clinton albatross would be something I think Rat rational thinkers would like to see happen. (I assume Rat rational thinkers do indeed exist!) Manchin might take the VP slot for the name recognition, experience, & networking need for 2024. Though he might not actually need it. He certainly wouldn’t do what Kaine did, lose & got back to sleep in the Senate.
After a Rat debacle (Hellary led or otherwise) Manchin will cast himself as the “moderate” there to be the “reasonable voice” and to pick up the pieces of the shattered Rat party. In 2024 he will be 77, age will be his only constraint. I guess his health is good.

I’d still like to see a list of who’s running over there to become president. I do know one thing, FOR SURE, it’s not anyone who has been in any of the debates - they excluded themselves once they raised their hands for free healthcare for Illegals. Beto also didn’t help that bunch, who now have to answer for him.
So who will be duking it out at the convention to become the nominee? I have some theories, but I’m sure there are many that I’m not thinking of.
It’s actually 4th place since the final results will be Donald Trump Mike Pence then whichever rat tops the ticket, THEN his/her/it’s VP.
