A team of scientists from 19 countries will set off for the Arctic on Friday, aiming to freeze their ship into the polar ice for a year to research the changing climate.

Aboard the massive icebreaker Polarstern, belonging to Germany’s Alfred Wegener polar and marine research institute, researchers hope to glean new understanding of the region.

The 140 million-euro ($155 million) mission will study the atmosphere, ocean, sea ice, ecosystem and natural processes — looking to build a picture of how climate change is affecting the region and the entire world.

“No other region of the world has warmed as quickly as the Arctic in the past decades,” mission leader and atmospheric scientist Markus Rex said on the “Mosaic” (Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate) website.

“No other region of the world has warmed as quickly as the Arctic in the past decades,”

Guess that's why they had to rescue another batch of scammers a couple weeks ago who were trapped by the ice. And it's summer. Hello? And why just 19 countries? Is the scam affecting ALL countries? Are they bigots or racists? This exclusion of other countries smells of exclusionary practices.

Well, shazam! They know what their ‘research’ will find before they even start. True geniuses!

When you’re life as a climate scientist is so boring that freezing your ship in the ice for a year sounds like a good idea.

Avoid the expense and all the trouble of doing data collection. We know what they will say, so they should just stay all cozy at home and write up their report.

They are not looking for evidence of anything. They are looking for data that will support their pre formed opinions. All other data will be disregarded as being irrelevant to their conclusions.
I love science but not scientist.

The ice volume moves around up there so don’t just look in one convenient place.

And be sure to take some of those 2000’ ice cores. You can measure the earth’s temperature 2500 years ago down to 1/100th of a degree, just like we do today with modern instruments strewn about land, sea and air, worldwide (and we still don’t have enough uniformity of instruments to this day).

Waste your own money please.

155 MILLION ????? I can provide that trip for 93.45 million . I can understand to an extent a research trip but why do they not utilize stations that are established and just tow an out building or something?
The college educated and political elite will stop at NOTHING to spend YOUR money to falsely state a narrative which simply is not true and the ultimate goal is incremental socialism as they dictate what you can and can’t do in order to SAVE THE PLANET !!!!! stupid moonbats .....What kill’s me is I’m self-employed and I am ALWAYS conscientious of any of my customers monies and to see the cash and figures just lazily thrown around turns my stomach...
