Iran had been supporting Shi’ite militants in Iraq practically since the day the U.S. invaded the country.

Heck, you could make a compelling case that a key figure in the U.S. involvement in Iraq — the notorious Ahmed Chalabi — was an Iranian mole feeding disinformation to the U.S. government.

The days of Alberta’s Child accepting the bullshit propaganda I read and hear from the U.S. government are long over.

Do you listen Alex Jones?

We're getting lies from the government with Trump as President?

The days of the U.S. pissing away thousands of lives fighting in someone else’s civil wars

Which absolutely nothing to do with what kind of threat Iran poses to this country or its interests abroad.

You’re going to tell me with a straight face that we are better off today having Iraq function as a Shi’ite puppet state of Iran?

Get the hell over it.

That Iraq war was mistake doesn't mean Trump has to compound the mistake by being soft on Iran or pulling out of Afghanistan.

I don’t listen to Alex Jones.

And yes — I’m sure we’re getting plenty of lies from the U.S. government with Trump as President. I’m sure he’s exercised great restraint in many situations because he knows damn well that he cannot trust many of his own advisors.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but THIS IS WHY I VOTED FOR HIM.

Of course. That’s why largely secular dictators like Hussein, Khaddafi and Assad came first.

How stupid do you think people are?

The biggest threat Iran poses to this country right now is probably in the form of Hezbollah cells that have been in the U.S. for years ... having flooded into this country at the invitation of our own government as “refugees.”

That’s why nobody should believe our government when it says we should be fighting these stupid wars anywhere.

A government that losses away thousands of lives and trillions of dollars on military campaigns all over the world while refusing to protect its own borders shouldn’t be taken seriously, period.

That is the price of FREEDOM and always has been.

Wishing it weren't so won't change the facts that tyrannical regimes and terrorist groups will always target a world superpower in the way of their ambitions.

BTW, in 17 years in Afghanistan, we've lost less lives than in one terrorist attack on 9/11.

Saudi Arabia needs to quit causing problems and get civilized. Until then I don’t support them. They can defend themselves. And as far as Iran, if their people want to be free of their overseers, they should revolt.

"ensuring the free flow of oil from the Gulf"

War isn't free. Let the Saudis defend themselves. If they can't then oil prices from that region will go up. Good. That creates the true costs on the oil not the tax payers.

Are you suggesting that a government engaged in decades-long military campaigns in sh!t-holes halfway around the world, while maintaining open borders and a veritable police surveillance state here at home, actually has any interest in protecting the freedom of its citizens at all?

Yes and now it is Iran’s turn to lose.

Sounds pretty smart to me.

It is also inevitable.

So stop cheering for the losers.
