Many Republicans and Democrats espouse principles that are no more than expedient ploys. What they really believe in is a corrupt system that provides them with the opportunity to prosper. I’m not sure why there is so much resistance on the Right to running conservatives as Democrats in traditionally Democratic primary races. Liberals have been planting their own in Republican primaries for decades, now - and they now hold a fair percentage of GOP offices. We seem to think it is somehow “dishonest” to play the game that way.

The party label is not important - getting the right minds into office is.
