Take a look at First Lady Melania’s improvements to the White House

Like anyone who has ever spruced up their home, Melania Trump will have a few new touches to showcase Friday when guests visit the White House for only the second state dinner of the Trump presidency.

There’s refreshed wall fabric in the Red Room, repurposed draperies in the Green Room and restored furniture in the Blue Room. And those are just some of the home improvement projects the first lady has overseen to keep the well-trod public rooms at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. looking their museum-quality best.

Some of the projects were long overdue.

Sunlight streaming into the Red Room had left some of the wall fabric “so faded it was almost pink,” said Stewart McLaurin, president of the White House Historical Association, which helps finance upkeep of some rooms in the 132-room mansion. First lady Jacqueline Kennedy founded the private, nonprofit organization in 1961.

It certainly needed cleaning up. Back when Moo and Melania met in the Yellow Oval Room, I posted several times about what a filthy dump it was. Stained sofa, dirty walls and fireplace, wonky candles, threadbare rug, etc. It was down right disgusting. Later photos were cropped to hide the sofa.

Hope Melania has sent all of the obamy decor off the to deepest darkest basement she could fine.

If mayor Pete Buttplug gets in, he will repaint the walls brown...

Was she able to get smell out? The fetid, manure like odor which people reported smelling when visiting the Obama Whjte House?

And no condom-laden Christmas trees around the holiday season, thankfully.

Mrs. Trump is the single, most important improvement in the White House! She’s beautiful, graceful and first-class!

Very nice. Too bad the captions covered half the photos shown at the link.

“Mrs. Trump is the single, most important improvement in the White House! She’s beautiful, graceful and first-class!”

Inarguably true.

“what a filthy dump it was. Stained sofa, dirty walls and fireplace, wonky candles, threadbare rug, etc.”

Wow! How does one 8-year presidency dirty the walls in the White House?

“wonky candles”

I just hate candles, except for elegant meals. The ones that WERE there most likely were purchased at a voodoo shop.

Great wife
Does her own thing

I believe that’s called a feminist.

Like most Americans. The First Lady made do with what she had, realizing results with minimal cash outflow. A true American wife who uses her “noggin’” when when attempting a costly result with little in the pocketbook.

Thank YOU for caring, Mrs. Trump. Good Job!

This one? http://www.artnews.com/2015/04/15/heres-a-photo-of-an-alma-thomas-painting-in-the-white-house/

Wouldn't call it creepy so much as folk art-sy.

Not my style, maybe an okay pattern for the seatback of an outdoor chair, such as an Adirondack.

The 2 photos shown are lovely. I cannot believe AP reporterette, Superville, said something nice about our First Lady...but there it is.

Thanks. That helped. Unfortunately some of the images that were in the the story the first time I read it are gone. I presume someone edited them out. Too bad.
