What did she stand for? All that airtime, but to what effect? She represented the beltway consensus, don’t-rock-the-boat, conventional wisdom line. And she did it with the detached sense of haughty indifference that made you almost sense the missing glass of Chardonnay in her left hand.
I would say “she will be missed”, but as a longtime viewer that’s just not true for me. Her passing will be like when Meet The Press gets a new fancy conference table. You know it’s different, but for the life of you, you can’t remember the old one at all.
She’s like that old conference table. I can’t remember what she thought, nor do I particularly care.
Rest in peace.
She was a lifelong swamp creature, born and bred. He mother and father were both powerful Democrat congress Representatives from Louisiana, with her mother also having been an Ambassador.
She was Status Quo....................
She did a great job of convincing us what she presented was as you describe.
It may have been beltway consensus, but it was far from conventional wisdom. The big lie has been that beltway consensus was conventional wisdom.
And as one other poster noted further in the thread she noted something to the effect we have to filter / interrupt for you because it is so complicated. I do remember her saying once w/ that indifference that everyone in DC is having an affair, it is just the Democrats have more fun with it. RIP....
