Donald Trump blamed energy-saving light bulbs for the bright orange hue of his face on Thursday night. In his speech at a Republican retreat in Baltimore, Trump explained the reason behind his strong feelings about the bulbs, which he apparently hates so much that he’s planning to significantly weaken federal rules that would have made Americans use them. “The light bulb,” the president began. “People said what’s with the light bulb. I said here’s the story, and I looked at it. The bulb that we’re being forced to use. No. 1, to me, most importantly, the light’s no good. I always look orange. And so do you. The light is the worst.” The New York Times described Trump’s turn at the Republican dinner as “a rambling and disjointed 68-minute speech accusing the news media and the ‘radical left’ of wanting to destroy America.”
If therefore the light that is in thee be orangeness, how great is that orangeness!

Part of that (orange coloration) is studio/media lighting effects.
Recall when John Kerry was running in 2004 and in some venues he appeared orange. GWBush’s coloring usually looked distorted when he was on camera.
Some studio operators/media operators make it look worse for select individuals.
One can see the differences when several different outlets are broadcasting the same activity, but with different cameras. Some will be more pronounced than others for the same event.
With the abandonment of light bulb laws we can now return to the time domain.
And Trump said, let there be light...
It’s interesting what you say. I always thought Obama had a green tinge to his complexion. I used to say why didn’t they adjust the lights and get it right? He was many things but green he wasn’t.
Liberals are racist against orange people.
Orange People are truly a unprotected minority in America! They don’t even have support from the liberals.
Let the market decide. The “wasted” energy from incandescent bulbs is not wasted in northern climates in winder when it just adds to indoor heating.
My high schools colours were orange blue and white.

Some call it fascism.
CFLs have mercury, and many have very skewed spectrums.
LED bulbs are problematic too. The blue light is not only affecting the circadian rhythm, but actually causing permanent damage to eyes of some.
I use full-spectrum lights during the day, and red-shift bulbs at night (like on a submarine).
I also have screen protection on my home computer, and blue-shield overglasses for the evening (for television). I noticed an immediate improvement in my sleep.
