In an appearance Wednesday on CBS-TVs The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Maine horror novelist Stephen King was sharply critical of U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine.
King, who has frequently assailed Republican politicians including President Trump on Twitter, told Colbert that he wanted a senator with a little bit more of a liberal bent.
She claims to have a liberal bent. But really, thats not true, King said, clenching his fist in the air.
Colbert held up a photo of a King tweet from a few days earlier that read, Hey-hey, ho-ho, Susan Collins has got to go.

One of King’s homes is in Bangor which I believe is part of the 2nd district of Maine which went for Trump and under their laws one electoral vote went to Trump. He has to hate that his section of the state is conservative. He’s horrified about Trump. Gee I thought you liked horror there, Stevie.
He recently published a short book called Elevation which I have yet to read (or hear via audiobook). Reviews of the audio version on Audible are panning it. Too short, bad narrator—King himself, ayuh!—and full of lefty politics, boring, etc.
>>This, however, was too political. I am not taking a political stance. I do not care if you voted for Hillary or Trump, but when a whole huge part of the story has to do with the political views of the area....well...then I just tune out. I read fiction to escape the hateful world. I don’t want to hear it reiterated in my reading.
People used to say the Steven King wrote such bizarre books because he was a long suffering Boston Red Sox fan. The truth is that he’s like that because he’s a left-wing “Keeper Of Odd Knowledge”, as El Rushbo would say.
Stephan King? Didn’t he get into a car accident by looking in the rear view mirror and saw his face which frightened him to the point that he drove off the road? That Stephan King?
It’s time for King to met Randall Flagg in hell.
Too bad Patty Murray is already in the Senate, huh Steve?
"King sold his first professional short story, "The Glass Floor," to Startling Mystery Stories in 1967."
Over fifty years ago is not a few years.
You'd think a best-selling author might be a little bit more original.
Hahaha I thought this was going to be about Fauxcahontas because I think she looks like Stephen King! I thought, oh good....someone else thinks Elizabeth looks like Stephen King besides me lol.
Although he is a talented writer of the “Horror Genre” of fiction, I have noticed that a preponderance of his stories involve the abuse of young children.
Since he has no problem assigning evil motives to politicians with whom he disagrees, would it be fair to speculate that his stories are a way of purging himself of his own wicked proclivities? Just musing about that.
I used to read his stuff but I found the repeated themes of child-abuse in his stories disturbing, so I stopped reading his stories long before I knew of his political leanings.
King must be tippling again.
Are they holding hands? That’s kinda g......
Why? She’s on their side more often than she’s on ours. I used to call her and Olympia Snowe the Lenin Sisters.
Good luck with that... Mr. King may have sold tens of millions of books, but he only has one vote.
He writes decent horror stories, but, he’s got a horrible sense for politics.
He’s not going to like the outcome of the 2020 elections, because, Trump is going to make IT very hard to beat him.
getting hit by the car did not help him at all I’ll bet. Collins not a liberal, Geez how far out to the left is this weirdo?
All leftist protests use that cadence and they have since at least Vietnam
[chapter 2]
Oh, for a sec there I thought you were talking about Neil Simon. I love a good comedy. Like a Neil Simon. Like “Chapter Two”.
Which novel would that be? I’ve read some of his works, but not all.
Jethro Bodine and Grandma!
