HOUSTON Greenpeace activists are hanging from the Fred Hartman Bridge in an effort to block traffic in the Houston Ship Channel.
A portion of the traffic in the Ship Channel has stopped from Light 102A to 104 due to the demonstration. So far, the incident is only blocking one northbound lane on the bridge itself....

When you’re blocking traffic it is NOT a “peaceful” demonstration.
Ramming speed! All ahead full! If they’re willing to sacrifice for it, have at it.
Just shoot em and be done with it.
start cutting cables... clear their footprints from the earth...
To paraphrase:
“Damn the Greenpeacers! Full speed ahead!!
A sharp knife could end the demonstration rather quickly.
Does no one have a pair of scissors?
Solution: knife...
Looks like a Cirque du Soleil act.
Piñatas!
Me first! Me first!
Such disruptive protests are a kind of extortion of the freedom of our society. Knowing that basic norms on human rights and life will be respected, they can engage in such behavior.
In high school, we had a Christian Ethics teacher, who while very much a christian pacifist and leftist (although he was actively anti-abortion) he had us discuss if Ghandi would have had any success in his Indian protests if India was ruled by Iranians, or Chinese, for example.
Greenpeace and PETA are in competition to see which can be the more insane....
“...Knowing that basic norms on human rights and life will be respected, they can engage in such behavior....”
Yeah. We’re waaaayyy too soft on em. IF they knew there was the possibility of being shot, getting a good old fashion azz whipping, and/or 20-year min. jail sentence with Big Bubba as a cell mate, they would have to think twice if they had any kind of brain matter left in their skulls at all.
Cut the chords, let them drop.
I guess these idiots don’t realize that ships and barges can’t stop on a dime. Heeheehee.
Don’t let them back up. Make them hang there.
You gotta give them credit for this stunt.
Must have been well planned and executed. It’s quite the spectacle, you have to admit.
I mean, to pull this off without being stopped, was quite a feat.
How could this not get on the news? The use of flags/streamers was brilliant.
Actually disrupting shipping was probably never a real goal. Making a statement and getting news coverage was the real goal and they succeeded beautifully.
I don’t support these crazies or their crazy ideas, but I must say “Well Done!”
