The recent mass shootings have triggered House Democrats to initiate gun-control legislation despite certain resistance by the Republican-majority Senate.
And then there's that little problem with the Constitution, which Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., pointed out on Tuesday as the House Judiciary Committee started working on gun-control measures.
"What I am not willing to do is support legislation that will do nothing to make us safer and simultaneously infringes on the rights and liberties guaranteed by our Constitution. Unfortunately, all three bills we are considering today do just that."
He told majority Democrats on the committee that H.R. 1236 "is flawed in far too many ways to be worthy of this committees support."

Why hadntctrymp teleased the details of the gun control bill Pence says came from the administration?
Why is the NRA silent on this?
Guess they’re too busy suing san nancisco over being declared a terrorist organization?
The constitution was written in a way a simple farmer would understand the meaning.
Apparently too few farmers in CONgress these days.
The real intent of the 2nd amendment is that we show up to the Capitol armed to defend our 2nd amendment rights from the evil bums that, truth be told, want to render us defenseless.
The deck has been stacked to permit mass killings so the bum perverts can step in and “protect us” with gun control. . . the same way that Stalin, Hitler and Castro (to name a few) “protected” the citizens that THEY disarmed. These are the people that the Founding Fathers were warning us about.
The left are desperate enact ‘thought crimes’ in their effort to ban all guns- They want to prosecute people for crimes they haven’t committed yet- they want the ‘right’ to tell people “We think you may be a danger at some point in the future, therefore you are not allowed to own a gun”
zaclee.
Agreed. Unfortunately, a lot of folks here on FR and the NRA are either in denial or silent on trump’s gun control package. I have had enough gun control from him and thers to last a life time.
So many people think that the Bill of Rights grants rights. Even congress critters don’t understand that they simply are not authorized to infringe upon rights.
Why are you dinging Doug Collins?
You need to re-read the 3rd paragraph of the excerpt, where Collins is telling the committee it’s a no-go.
Talking to them about further infringements is a no go to me. But i get it.
