In the swing state of North Carolina, it was happy-dance time for the beleaguered Republicans. Two hotly contested congressional races both went solidly into the GOP camp, helping the Republicans in the crazies-run House. State Sen. Dan Bishop won in the 9th district, and Greg Murphy won in the 3rd district and both will now get the opportunity to tell Reps. Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that they are out to lunch. It was a conservative blowout.

Five thing stick out about it now:

Oh, I bet they are.

I classify last nights wins as a YUGE victory, in technical terms.

Down side is that the bad guys are gonna get crazier and crazier as they realize another 4 years is coming, and they’re going to lose the house, because they are batshit crazy and evil.

Every good conservative lies to pollsters now. I do.

I was driving on the DC - MD boundary following a car that turned left into the posh MD suburb of Chevy Chase. The car was an expensive Merc with a Florida License plate the read "Covfefe." The man was taking his car and life out of his hands and putting them into the hands of a liberal establishment that voted 96%!!!! against Trump, 94% for Hillary.

Tell anyone you support Trump and you will be shunned, ridiculed and have your car keyed. They will trash your home and arrest you because your dog is not in compliance with local ordinances.

The best thing to do is to lie. For those of us brought up not to lie you have to fall back on slamming the phone down or just walking away. I wonder if the polsters ever thought to put some weight on the refuse to answer count towards Republicans. It has to be minimally 75% because there is no reason not to tell the world that are with Her.

A few years ago as I walked out of my polling location I was stopped beside my car and asked to answer a few questions about the election (Zero’s second). After two or three innocuous questions he asked what they really wanted to know: whom did you vote for? I said Obama. The pollster stopped scribbling on his notepad and looked me over and then he said “White, well dressed, possibly retired, driving a Jag ... there is no way that you have told the truth.” I just smiled and left.

The incident has often made me wonder how many poll questions are answered by the pollsters based upon observation alone, not Q&A.

The media and the democrats are claiming victory.

I wish them many more such victories.

46,275 of them? Sounds like ‘Voter Fraud’ is what it is … right along with BS pols that are written, completed and reported by criminal half-wits!

My hope is that “traditional” Republicans will learn from these victories that the support of the President is crucial. He has reshaped the Republican Party into one that no longer pretends to represent everyday Americans, but actually does. The Chamber of Commerce Republicans need to realize that ordinary Americans are “woke” to the true nature of the pre-Trumpian Republican Party and it is for this reason that so many rightly support the President. If the Republicans want to win in 2020 they need to support the President and his policies.

I've lived in countries were polls are unheard of, or government makes them illegal. Even if legitimate, people would lie or not answer because there was no automatic societal trust. Answering a stranger's questions is a very risky proposition, with no upside to telling the truth.

I learned that polling itself therefore is only possible in a stable, peaceful society with high trust. That was the United States earlier in the 20th century, but no longer. Our government is now huge and society is highly politicized. Just one more thing the Left has destroyed.

Well, it’s a matter of perspective. When the media is saying you are losing by 11 and you win by 2 in a swing district, it’s a blowout of sorts.

But yes, 2 is hardly a romp. But is hardly a “troubling” margin.

The most important message I took from this is that last year’s mid-terms are over. The voters are now associating the dem brand with their Presodential candidates and the crapola the House has been running.

Nice spin but Bishop only got 96,000. The republican in 2018 only bested McGready by 1,000 votes. so both sides lost an equal amount of votes.

Dems claiming a loss as a victory . . .

"The WaPo now claims that Democrats are going into the next race from a 'position of strength' ". I was OK until that part, then it was "wipe coffee off screen" time.

Sounds terrible to live in a place like that. Maybe you need to move to the South and be free.
