Not necessarily. 9th district only includes a small portion of extreme eastern Mecklenburg. This area is relatively wealthy and suburban, and is not a heavily D area. We shall see, but I fear McReady will win because the district is heavily minority.
Mecklenburg went like this in 2018:
Dan McCready DEM 51,856 53.93%
Mark Harris REP 42,668 44.38%
Jeff Scott LIB 1,626 1.69%
Prior to the partisan Democrat gerrymander this district was 73% white (2010 Census data). Now it’s only 60% white. Get ready to kiss it goodbye.
