Everyone should get treated, but the bills for any illegal should be sent to their home countries. If they don’t pay these bills, then the cost should be taken either from any US aid they receive, freezing of an equivalent amount of assets they might have in the US, or from taxes on any remittances coming from their citizens in the US.

I doubt it is Medicare, rather they are talking about MediCAL, which every other state calls Medicaid.
When my ancient mother, who lived in San Diego, was experiencing her last illness, I went to a lot of agencies to try and get her a little help. She was on Social Security, and to be fair, because of her age 99 and the fact she was drawing widow’s benefits from SS, she had received a lot more benefits than she had paid into SS. But the fact is, she had been paying taxes for close onto 80 years of her life.
She was entitled to nothing. Everyone was very sympathetic, but there was nothing they could do for her. Penniless people who worked off the books and paid no taxes were, of course eligible for just about everything, food stamps, meals on wheels, mediCAL, free phone, low-cost internet, etc. etc., and for convenience “se habla espanol”.
Her last illness was mercifully brief and she died a few months before what money she had ran out. But the idea that people who have no right to be here get benefits that citizens who live here are denied kind of ticks me off.
