Jon Ossoff became an unlikely Democratic star in Georgia. Now, he’s running for Senate.

Months after President Trump’s victory in November 2016, Jon Ossoff mounted a long-shot congressional campaign in a historically red Georgia district — and unexpectedly became a symbol of hope for demoralized Democrats as he racked up millions from small donors. When he narrowly lost one of the most expensive House races in history in June 2017, Ossoff promised to return.

“I launched this campaign believing that America can become stronger, more prosperous and more secure only if we stay true to the values that unite us,” Ossoff wrote in The Washington Post days after his loss. “I still believe that, and I’m not done fighting.”

On Monday night, Ossoff stayed true to that vow, announcing a Senate bid that, if successful, would make him the first Georgia Democrat elected to the position in almost two decades. Ossoff, now 32, will formally launch his campaign Tuesday, telling the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he plans to challenge Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), whom he called “a caricature of Washington corruption.”

What is with these Democrats who lose elections then think that qualifies them to try for even higher public office. Didn't this guy lie about his life story and where he lived?

Its like the NFL and coaches. Win, lose, it doesn’t matter, you get another chance to fail.

Is anyone else sick of the Washington Post shtick of two-sentence headlines?

Needs to be more like soccer, you lose, you get relegated.

The idiot got all that attention and money because it was a special election. Nothing else was happening...

but the fool thinks it was all because of him.

“Is anyone else sick of the Washington Post shtick of two-sentence headlines?”

A lot of their readers never get past the headline. Two sentences may be just below their attention limit.

It was hilarious when one of the braindead CBC members said Osoff was a lot like a "Kennedy."

So Jon started saying he lived in a "compound," his girlfriend's name was Jackie,
and ordered Boston Clam Chowder in a Georgia Tearoom famous for its peach cobbler..

So looking over this 32-year-old character, and an amazing 6-page piece written on Wiki...if you tear apart his amazing career after college, he has a 5x7 inch card for a resume. He has produced eight documentary pieces...but beyond that he doesn’t seem to hang around regular working-class people, and always looking for some chaos or political agenda to galvanize support.

I hate to say it....but at least ‘Mayor-Pete’ has a 12 lines for his resume, compared to six lines for Ossoff. Maybe if he can find an entire district that is mostly all urbanized and mostly obsessed with gun-control or asylum folks...he might get somewhere.

I guess you become a Democrat “symbol of hope” by showing you can spend a boatload of money and still lose an election.

He’s the white version of Aunt Jemima Stacey Abrams, whose never won an elective office in her life but thinks she’s the real governor of Georgia and thinks she’s qualified to be president and if you don’t agree with her YOU’RE A RACIST!

That pretty much summarizes the "values that unite us" he was talking about.

Laugh, but he will eventually win and so will Stacy (stay away from her when she’s eating) Abrams. They are persistent. They have set their sights (and $$$) on GA and there are almost enough free $hit voters here now to pull it off. Trump is the last Republican, if not the last President.
