Arctic tours ship MS MALMO with 16 passengers on board got stuck in ice on Sep 3 off Longyearbyen, Svalbard Archipelago, halfway between Norway and North Pole. The ship is on Arctic tour with Climate Change documentary film team, and tourists, concerned with Climate Change and melting Arctic ice. All 16 Climate Change warriors were evacuated by helicopter in challenging conditions, all are safe. 7 crew remains on board, waiting for Coast Guard ship assistance.

Years ago I remember that flying a light helicopter cost about $3K an hour.
These heavy sea going helicopters have got to cost a lot more.

We hate Fossil Fuels! Except to power our boat to the North Pole to prove that Santa Claus does not exist but climate change does. And also we like it if we need rescuing by fossil fuel guzzling helicopters. But the rest of the time we hate Fossil Fuels.
And regardless of what just happened to them, they will still write a piece about climate change and use their being trapped in the ice as an example.
These nitwits should do the ONLY honorable thing available to them . The world and civil society will the better for it. Do it this evening !

Is there any serious evidence that polar ice is actually melting? I am not convinced there is any “warming” at all, but everyone seems to believe that the ice will clear enough for polar navigation in the future.

Gee, let’s take a group of dolts on an arctic cruise, end of August beginning of September and show them melting ice to prove global warming.....FAIL #1......then get stuck in ice....FAILURE #2

Next time, leave them stuck in the ice.
Since first satellite imagery of the poles in 79, there is 41% more ice in the south and 7% more in the north. There is so much ice, it’s all a load of crock.

#2. Helicopters pollute the air with their exhaust so why use them to rescue leftist aholes who don’t want airplanes to fly? Let the little “stupids” freeze. They could be the first statues in the climate-controlled “Human Climate Wackos Hall of Stupidity”.
