Aren’t there some people with Temporary Protected Status who have been in the country for decades?

Per Wikipedia the Bahamas are a Commonwealth Realm:

A Commonwealth realm is a sovereign state[† 1] in which Queen Elizabeth II is the reigning constitutional monarch and head of state. Each realm functions as an independent co-equal kingdom from the other realms. As of 2019, there are 16 Commonwealth realms: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and the United Kingdom. All 16 Commonwealth realms are members of the Commonwealth of Nations, an intergovernmental organisation of 53 member states. Elizabeth II is Head of the Commonwealth.

In 1952, Britain's proclamation of Elizabeth II's accession used the term realms to describe the seven sovereign states of which she was queen—the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Ceylon. Since then, new realms have been created through independence of former colonies and dependencies and some realms have become republics.

What is the Queen doing for them? Why haven't Prince Andrew and Prince Harry dropped in to do volunteer work in hospitals and hand out water-bottles? Where is that new Princess, she's half-black, so you think the 90% black Bahamas tragedy would be particularly close to her heart.

Have I missed all of that? It's been happening? The Royal Navy sending ships?

Agreed. Very apt and timely question. What is the Bahamas relationship to the Crown?!

I live in Florida. I'm a U.S. citizen. If my home were destroyed by a hurricane, what other country on earth would offer me a place to live under any kind of program?

I thought so.

Her Majesty, as The Queen of the Bahamas, has sent the following message of condolence to the Governor-General

Prince Philip and I have been shocked and saddened to learn of the devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian, and we send our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives following this terrible storm.

At this very difficult time, my thoughts and prayers are with those who have seen their homes and property destroyed, and I also send my gratitude to the emergency services and volunteers who are supporting the rescue and recovery effort.

Sorry. Maybe if we weren’t being overrun by Mexicans, Guats, Africans, etc. We aren’t the world’s refugee camp.

No way!!! There are something like 700 islands in the Bahamas. Let them resettle on an undamaged island in their own “country”.

Maybe the queen and her inbred family could spend some of the royal money to rebuild the Bahamas?!

Thanks for posting that.

America is just so ACTION ORIENTED! We do stuff. I mean thoughts and prayers are always good, but it seems so weak, -- almost impotent -- for their head of state.

VS: Trump!

Trump says US is 'sending crews' to help Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian
