President Trumps reelection campaign announced Friday he will hold a rally in Rio Rancho, N.M., on Sept. 16 as he tries to expand the electoral map before the 2020 race.
We have seen an economic boom in New Mexico since President Trump took office. While President Obama lost 1,900 jobs, President Trump has added 34,600 jobs in the state, said Michael Glassner, chief operating officer of the Trump campaign. President Trump has delivered on his promises, and he looks forward to celebrating those successes with the great men and women of New Mexico.
The rally will be held in the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, a multipurpose facility that says it seats about 6,000 for hockey and rodeos and up to 7,500 for concerts.
New Mexico, along with Nevada and New Hampshire, is a top target for the Trump campaign that allies believe the president can flip in 2020 after losing in 2016.

NM and its wacko regulation caused Intel to stop further development in their operation in Rio Rancho.
It would be great to see thing change in NM
This is a ripping-the-heart-out strategy. Trump has the states that went for him in 2016 completely locked out. Minnesota is now competitive, and Trump is going right into the gut of the Left and force them to compete there too.
Would love for Trump to hold a rally in Times Square, in Chicago, or in Los Angeles or Portland.
Glad to see him go right into the belly of the beast spawned by uncontrolled illegal immigration & the welfare state. Making the Demolibs defend what they believed to be safe electoral ground is a great strategy, IMO.
He should go up and down California
I bet he could turn it.
New Mexico will generate lots and lots of cheap energy.
Only if we’re allowed to use it...
Since 2016 NM GOP has shaved 9k off the DemoKKKrat lead.
The bad news is DemoKKKrats still have a 90k lead with few indies in the state. Bush carried NM in 2004 by just 6,000 votes. So it’s possible.
And I assume Minnesota should be added to the “potential flips” issue.
2016:
Popular vote Clinton: 385,234 Trump: 319,667
Percentage Clinton: 48.26% Trump: 40.04%
Not sure about voter integrity in NM.
Rio Rancho is just north of Albuquerque.
He doesn't need to carry any states that he didn't carry in '16 but he needs to carry every state that he did.
Ive got my tickets!
Rio Rancho is a red area, probably the friendliest place Trump could come to in New Mexico.
Any tips from those who have gone to other rallies?
After 2018, Id say there were shenanigans.
” IMO the President’s focus should be on FL,NC,PA,MI,IN,WI. I’d say Ohio too but he carried that very comfortably in ‘16.”

Agree for the most part. But. If Biden, as he did this week, and others continue to say they will shutter coal mines and plants, he should do well in the heartland.
I’m with those who say make the Dems compete in their safe states.
New Mexico is in a bit of a rebellion right now against the socialists. Timing might be good.

Belly of the Beast!
I will be there. Walking distance from my office.
The Clinton team was joyous that Trump was "wasting his time" in places like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. They considered that area the impenetrable "Blue Wall" and even many of us laughed at the audacity of it.
Well that strategy propelled Trump to the presidency.
In 2020, I think Trump can take NH, MN, NV, NM, CO and even VA. I don't think he loses a single state that he won in 2016.
“IMO the President’s focus should be on FL,NC,PA,MI,IN,WI”
on the surface, that would be true, but we have no idea what Trump’s internal polling is showing in the various states ... their polls MIGHT be showing that some of those states are already locked up for Trump ...
