The mechanic glued a hard foam material inside a tube leading to the plane's air-data module, which measures air speed, pitch, and other crucial flight information.
The mechanic, named Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani, according to a criminal complaint filed in a Miami federal court and obtained by Business Insider, is accused with tampering with an aircraft's air-data module.

That’s how the Air France airbus crashed over the south Atlantic: a faulty pitot tube caused the fly by wire system to send false info to the cockpit and they flew into the water. Isn’t it possible that this guy was trying to cause a crash, not a delay?

I resent the fact this happened in July and they kept it under wraps probably so it would not damage the summer travel season. Note this came out after notice Labor Day.
