Unless the gov withdraws mortgage insurance this kabuki theater.

Now it will be the same old crony capiltlaist game of private profits and public losses. What could go wrong...oh wait we already know the answer to that.

Freddy and Fannie bankrupted themselves in 2008, and in the process, revealed they were cesspits of Washington political favoritism and crony-capitalist corruption.

And yet - they still survive today.

Fed.gov is incapable of reforming itself.

Fannie/Freddie ran fine for 50 years providing mortgage liquidity for lenders. Unfortunately, a democrat congress changed their charters in 1994 to use them as social engineering instruments. Change their charters back to the original intent.
