When I went to grammar school in North Carolina in the 1950s, every teacher began each day with a Bible reading and religious instruction. Students prayed in school. There was a pledge of allegiance to the flag. Every child had to know the pledge. Every day began with inspiration and devotions. Imagine that today!!!
We need to regain control of public schools and set the agenda. At the very least, force liberals to the table.
Actually Id settle for getting the Feds entirely out of education. Close the Dept. Of Education, block grant every dime back to the States. Better yet stop taking the money from taxpayers at all.

There was a ****HUGE**** difference between the lukewarm and generic pap offered to the government schooled youth and that found in the Catholic schools. OurChristian faith was interwoven into every aspect of the curriculum.
In government school there was a nod to God in the morning and then non-stop secularism until I finished my homework and went to bed.
Just to give one very tiny example:
When a fire or police car alarm was heard, the nun would pause and the entire class would pray for the safety of the people involved in the incident causing the alarm. ....So sweet, now that I remember it.
What does Jesus do to the lukewarm? He spits them out of his mouth.
I would have loved to attend a Christian religious school. So happy to hear what a wonderful experience it was for you.
Indeed! ...The left would go crazy.
I don’t understand why many thinking FReepers cannot wrap their minds around this.
Again, why is it good to put children in government care but not sick people?
Yes, indeed!
It’s discouraging that so many Freepers believe government socialist-entitlement schooling can be fixed.
Get rid of the Department of Education now...
