‘Nobody subtweets like Pat’! Pat Sajak jumps on the ‘blacklist’ bandwagon

As you know, “Will & Grace” actors Eric McCormack and Debra Messing have called on the media to publicize the names of those attending Trump’s Beverly Hills fundraiser later this month. McCormack and Messing deny that their attempt to create a blacklist would actually amount to a blacklist. Because the topic of blacklists has again been in the news, Pat Sajak thought he’d get in on the action:

There's a line in one of William F. Buckley's Blackford Oakes novels that alludes to the McCarthy era; one of McCarthy's charges was that the State Department had been infiltrated by homosexuals.

In the novel, one character says to the other something like "...they're so paranoid over at State, I saw a guy in the cafeteria eating a hot dog like it was corn on the cob!"

Actually, I would say nobody over the age of 12 puts ketchup on a hot dog. I remember Wednesday was hot dog day at the small parochial school I attended from K-4. It seems most of the kids wanted ketchup, mustard, and relish — which were the only condiments on offer.

I’m sure most of them outgrew the ketchup. I sure did.

Another thing worth mentioning — the mustard goes on the dog, not the bun. I don’t want to speak ill of the dead, but I once had to educate a relative — a lady of mature years — on this point.

I put catsup on hot dogs and have for over 60 years. If it has chili on it, it gets mustard, but a naked dog is just as likely to get catsup and relish. So there.😛
