During the first referendum oil was at about $110 a barrel. Today it's closer to $65...and is bound to go even lower as US production increases by leaps and bounds.

So,unlike a few years ago,Scotland's dwindling oil reserves are of no consequence today.

It's difficult to see Scotland's economy doing very well on whiskey and haggis exports. But I'm sure the SNP would have no problem with Scotland becoming just another EU protectorate...like Spain,Italy,Greece,Poland,etc,etc.

Spain is doing very well. They had a few rough years due to over extension but no more.

What makes you think Spain is a protectorate?
