A Pennsylvania fire company was closed by town officials on Wednesday after the company's leadership refused to address that one its volunteer firefighters was affiliated with the extremist group the Proud Boys.
Officials in Haverford Township, in Delaware County, were informed on Aug. 12 that a volunteer with the Bon Air Fire Company was affiliated with "an organization described as an extremist group," the township's manager David Burman wrote in a statement released Thursday.
The township immediately launched an investigation, which included interviewing the volunteer, who admitted he was involved with the Proud Boys, Burman said. The volunteer revealed he had attended social gatherings hosted by the group and had passed two of the group's four initiation steps, "which includes hazing."
Burman's statement quoted the group's "self-proclaimed basic tenet," posted on their website, that they are “Western chauvinists who refuse to apologize for creating the modern world.” The proclamation belongs to the Proud Boys, who "are known for anti-Muslim and misogynistic rhetoric," according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which designates them as a hate group. Women and transgender men are not allowed in the group.
While the volunteer "indicated that he had attempted to distance himself from the group in recent months" Burman and a police official met with Bon Air Fire Company officials on Aug. 14 to address "the seriousness of this matter and urged the fire company to address it."
Burman said he was informed the next day that the volunteer had offered his resignation, but the Bon Air Fire Company chief had refused to accept it. A week later, Burman said he received an email that said the fire company's board had "found no basis for terminating the volunteer’s membership."

the union people are all for disparaging volunteer fire depts because the area really needs "professional" fire fighting, so they say.......a LOT bigger price tag and all those fat pensions.....
our professional fire fighters locally have been caught with underage women "visiting" the dept at odd hrs...and covering it up of course...

Well, if there is case here and it does go to court, discovery might be awfully interesting.
Just looked at the wiki link describing the Proud Boys, and what a load of shite that is. It also says they ban homosexuals, but the Proud Boys website they accept them, and the whole wiki article sounds like it was written by the SPLC
So, “official thought and speech”, as opposed to free speech, creeps gradually by “social” means into law.
The whole western culture is, by its “official” institutions” committing cultural suicide, which will inevitably be followed in time by political suicide.
A key pillar of modern western civilization is free speech, and its corallary - freedom of conscience - and that pillar was initiated into western thought with senitments like those from voltaire, which goes something like: I disapprove of what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it.
THAT thinking identifies a wall between government policy and its objectives and your right socially to think, and speak, differently in all your free associations.
As that pillar is torn down, the freedoms in western society become no longer free but only as free as long as they agree with official policies. Law in western society deterioriates into a bulwark of government against the individual instead of a bulwark of freedom against the government. The western political class becomes the new dictatorship in all but name.

They say that because the founder used to say they needed to go punch people like Antifa in the face, but they always leave out that he said that in response to Antifa running around punching every conservative they could find in the face. They were promoting violence in SELF DEFENSE.

Yes I just read the wiki article about them , but no where in the events of the Proud Boys does it state that this is in response to Antifa attacking people, and using NAZI tactics for the Democrat party
