A protest is planned against the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain which is opening a location in the heart of Toronto on Friday.
The U.S.-based company has made international headlines since 2012 for its anti-LGBTQ stances and promotion of conservative Christian beliefs.
The company believes in biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman and groups have uncovered tax filings where Chick-fil-As charitable arm made millions in donations to organizations opposed to gay rights.
Some of the organizations that have received charitable donations from Chick-fil-A have been labelled as hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Centre, an Alabama-based legal advocacy group for civil rights.
The controversy sparked protests against Chick-fil-A across the U.S., although the companys books didnt indicate a decline in profits.

Anti gay stance?. Oh don’t believe in gayiety. I see.
So, celebrating diversity doesn’t include Christians?
Poor Toronto. They have to read this tripe.

Do they not realize they are boosting sales?
Poorly written article.
Article cites the same Southern Poverty Law Center that is completely discredited as a civil rights organization and that a deranged gunman used to carry out a shooting.
Oh wow. Another bug>windshield protest that wont work.
Because of their small portion sizes?
Ya think?
Yeah, they shut down the restaurant in NYC.
come on buttheads! Is it or is it not Canada? There’s more than one Toronto out there.
I will make a point of going there. Maybe not this Friday but I will try.
I’d like to know how much Chick-a-Fill is paying these groups to ‘protest’ them, as it’s looking like a REALLY GOOD INVESTMENT!
Southern Poverty Law Centre???
LOL....there is a whole bunch of credibility
HAHAHAHA!
The progs don't know Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays?
.
People determined to go to war against red hats, chicken sandwiches, babies and heterosexual parents.....unreal.
Too dumb even to recognize their own absurdity.
All this free advertising to get to lovers of Christ or just plain lovers of great food. God is good! Drawing straight with crooked lines.
Such a good product that people are willing to stand in long lines. I dont think anybody cares about the protesters.
