BPD assistant police chief Demestihas arrested on suspicion of domestic violence

An assistant police chief for the Bakersfield Police Department has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and placed on administrative leave, according to a BPD news release.

Evan Demestihas surrendered himself to the Taft City Jail Wednesday. He was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic assault.

I'll be watching this story to see if this assistant police chief loses his gun rights. You can bet I would under these circumstances. Of course he many be innocent. Not much to go on yet.

Most city police hierarchy are political hacks and useless as real cops, Jail them all and sort it out later.
