Wait, if the power of the mind can affect/alter weather, why doesn’t she suggest that to combat the so-called climate change? I’m sure she could get a ton of like-minded lefties to devote all their dubious mental energies to reducing the planet’s temperature. They could even throw in Yang’s minimum basic income to pay them for their altruistic efforts. Think of the possibilities. They were not destroyed as I recall but they did evolve into beings of extreme intellect without any corporeal qualities. They did create illusions such as taking away the phasers from Kirks crew and the Klingons and forcing them to fight with the weapons of old like axes, clubs etc.

In the end both the Klingons who wanted to conquer the planet for its rich supplies of Dilithium Crystals and the Star Trek crew were thwarted by the Talosians and left empty handed.

I think you are getting four Star Trek original series episodes mixed up: “The Cage” with the Talosians, “Day of the Dove” with fighting Klingons with swords, and “A Private Little War” over dilithium and “Errand of Mercy” where the Organians were energy beings who forced the Federation and Klingons to have a peace treaty for a few decades.
