...not sure how you might feel about it, but I now buy all my ammo at Academy Sports... apply for one of their credit cards, get a 15 per cent (one time...) discount then and there and get a 5 per cent discount thereafter... what’s next for Walmart..? well, gasoline powers automobiles and other vehicles that may be at some point involved in accidents, so why not stop the sale of gasoline...?? this crap is all known as virtue-signalling..... totally meaningless....
Walmart execs just pinned a real target on their customers. Some psycho will walk in there knowing no one has a weapon and kill as many people as they want.

They will still also sell you .308 that will go in a Springfield Armory M1A that is the semi auto version of the M-14, there are also AR-10’s in .308, and also Saiga and Vepr chambered for it as well.
What they are dropping is intermediate cartridges, not short barreled rifle ammo.
I know guys who have SBR’d .308’s and have Saigas with 21” barrels.
If your serious about buying ammo, you should start buying it in bulk from places like SGAmmo.com. They have a much greater selection of better quality ammo than Walmart does. And, when you buy in bulk, you can get it cheaper.

Good. Walmart drove a lot of local mom and pop sporting goods stores out of business by undercutting them on prices. Those were places where the owners and employees actually knew their products and used them on a regular basis. Cant say that about the Walmart employees that work in the sporting goods section. Most couldn’t tell you the difference between a rifle and a fishing pole.
Time to go to black powder and hard cast lead.
Well that’s a good thing. So the next shooter that takes out 20 Walmart shoppers, they can say” hey, at least it wasn’t from our ammo. We don’t sell it anymore, so just ignore the fact that we lack any real security. Sorta like going to a public school!”
