Soccer crowds are mostly young and left-wing, and they are European wannabes and somewhat snobbish that soccer is so superior to American football (in their view). The team names (Real Salt Lake, FC Whatever, Sporting Whatever), the large banners on poles, and even the eerie group chants are all copies of a European model.

The chants in particular bug me, as they sound like something you'd hear at a Nazi rally, and I'm dismayed that I'm now hearing those kinds of chants at baseball and (American) football games.
