If the fire was in the stern then they would have been able to escape. The main stairway to the passenger berth is forward by the kitchen.
Was wondering what your boat was
Mine was a 33ft Hans Christian Sloop
Remember John Davidson’s single screw tryin to depart or arrive back in the day ?
We would cover our mouth laughin
It might have been cluttered with equipment to the point they couldn’t get to it?
I would think they would all have a front hatch, being fully functional is the question.
Horrible. Normally these things are perfectly safe so nobody ever considers the what if.
That actually sounds like what happened here. All 5 Crew members were topside at 3:30 AM when the Boat Erupted in a ball of flame, they all jumped and survived, the 34 sleeping below deck? well hopefully it went quick.
Tragic news.
tragic and sad beyond belief.
"Shore" is a cliff face that is the island Santa Cruz. One of the great things about this dive outfit is that you wake up at a perfect, new dive site each morning. Typical trip boards Friday night. When you wake up, you're at the island and it's time to dive.
Maybe you need to be Deleted the Poster Posted what was at that moment in time the CORRECT Headline.
Now I will get to the REAL AND RELEVANT QUESTION.
Are you related to humblegunner or are you him.
If you dont like it here go somewhere else.
Our boat is, not was, a 40 ft Yorktown. They were kit boats that they would do in the factory or you could do yourself. Ours is a factory boat. Heavy duty, blue water sailor.
Not there anymore to talk to anyone. Had to leave today. Getting ready for a trip to Scotland next week. Im sure itll be the talk of the marina and the Village for a few days.
Geez Ive never seen propane stoves on a boat. Only electric. Id have to agree with your husband on changing those out.
Most sailboats have propane stoves.
Ahh Ok. Thats why.
But the crew made it off the boat...
Used to dive with the Liberty long ago, then the Spectre mostly and infrequently on the Peace. Been out of SoCal for 14 years, no idea who runs boats now.
Hubby used to do all his diving off Spectre and Peace. And theyre both still working.
