It is the OIL FIELDS. You can lose a job and find another real easy there. My dad jumped from job to job and never went without work in the oil fields.
I read that he was fond of threatening other people (all of the ones I have read about were women, btw) who lived near him by showing up at their doors and pointing his rifle at them for some supposed offense. One of them called the sheriffs but Ator lived in an area with no streets or numbers, in a shack or maybe a trailer that had no utilities, and they couldn’t locate him to arrest him.
Frankly, it’s a wonder he even had a job. If he was a long haul truck driver, it might be worth investigating unsolved murders along his route.
