Uh, what does that say? To me, it doesn’t say anything.
He was driving with a loaded rifle within reach - he was on his way somewhere to commit an atrocity before the police interrupted him. I’m afraid the floodgates have been opened and now the crazies out there are going to try to commit copy cat atrocities.

I’m not sure the police ever returned fire until they had him cornered behind the theater. I do not know however.

It’s very easy to disagree with that position. A tyrannical government is the very reason we have the 2nd amendment and why it shall not be infringed.

The shooter was a known criminal, pulled over on pretext of a minor traffic violation. A "fishing trip" in a manner of speaking. A lot of high-profile felony arrests start in this manner. It is common practice.
This one went bad in a hurry because the suspect decided to shoot his way out of it and kill any witnesses to his escape. And he was well-armed.
The details will not be a good fit for the Leftist narrative of "White Supremist Right-Wing Terrorist Trump Supporter" and this story will likely get dropped very quickly.
That makes “sense” in a twisted way, unfortunately. No one has a legitimate reason to drive around with a loaded rifle within reach - he was up to something, as his subsequent behavior revealed.
Also why no name? Why is it that a Wal Mart nature lover who just happened to also like Trump’s stance on border security but have no value in human life can have his whole life and name out there..and on this, nothing?

Probably for the same reasons, that the media and liberals have bleated about the Wal Mart shooter wanting to shoot people of Mexican ethnicity, and tie him to Trump, while they have totally ignored and not reported on the shooter in Ohio, who was apparently liberal in politics and supported Elizabeth Warren.
The media and liberals emphasize details which support their narratives and political statements, and ignore events which don’t support those.
The El Paso and Dayton shootings happened with 24 hours of each other. The El Paso shooting was covered by the media much more than the Dayton shooting was. The El Paso shooting, motives, etc were dissected by the media for weeks after, while the Dayton shooting fell off the radar fairly quickly.

Good points, thanks! Lots of people are saying he’s a muslim or illegal alien, and he may well be. I just want to know! If the press or police are covering up the fact that he’s an alien, that’s going to tick a lot of people off, me included.
I think you are correct.I am a Texan who carries all the time. I know few people who do the same. I know several (including my wife) who have CHL's but do not actually carry on their person. My wife does carry hers in her car, but not her purse.
I don’t know about Texas, but here in Wackyfornia, DMV takes everybody’s thumb print. Unless the police blew away his thumbs when they rightfully killed the b******, it seems to me they should’ve been able to identify him within minutes. Another poster reminded me time is needed to notify next of kin, secure his home, etc. So that takes time. Still a little suspicious tho!

I argued this as well on an earlier series of posts.
Just look at two incidents in the last year where LEOs in Las Vegas and Orange County, CA thought this was good policing to shoot at suspects while all were traveling in vehicles at a high speed.
the Orange Co incident involved 76 rounds downrange, with 9 hits. That average of shots hit went way up after the suspect crashed and the LEO emptied some of those 76 rounds into the stationary truck from 10 feet away.
Any civilian in that rolling area that didn’t get was just dumb lucky.
