MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell just could not contain himself. In his eagerness to defeat President Donald J. Trump he rushed out on his show Tuesday night to report that a source close to the matter told him that Deutsche Bank had President Donald J. Trump's tax returns, they confirmed he paid little to no taxes, and that, here's what O'Donnell said was the huge bombshell, that the Trumpster had loans co-signed with Russian oligarchs close to Vladimir Putin. The only problem with this? It was based off a "single source," O'Donnell's employer never confirmed the story, and even Deutsche Bank is refusing to confirm the story.
O'Donnell told his colleague Rachel Maddow that a "single source close to Deutsche Bank has told me that Donald Trump's loan documents there show that he has co-signers. That's how he was able to obtain those loans. And that the co-signers are Russian oligarchs."
"If true," O'Donnell theorized, "that would be a significant factor in Vladimir Putin's publicly stated preference for presidential candidate Donald Trump over presidential candidate Hillary Clinton."
But by the end of the show, he told his audience that he wanted to "stress" these allegations were from a single source and that his network had not confirmed the story yet.
On Wednesday, an NBC booking producer confirmed that "The information came from a single source who has not seen the bank records. NBC has not seen those records and has not yet been able to verify the reporting."
Shortly after, O'Donnell tweeted that, "Last night I made an error in judgment by reporting an item about the presidents finances that didnt go through our rigorous verification and standards process." "I shouldnt have reported it and I was wrong to discuss it on the air. I will address the issue on my show tonight," he added. But, hey, O'Donnell probably thought "why let the truth get in the way of a good story?" Either that or he was simply chomping at the bit to find a story that actually proves Trump's a Russian puppet. Keep trying, buddy.
Knowing what we know now, go back and look at the vid clip of him making the statements. That whole Maddow show should be sued ... every night the breathlessly say that “tomorrow Trump will fall” and people keep believing it. I hope Trump sues the Hell out of them.
“Last night I made an error in judgment by reporting an item about the presidents finances that didnt go through our rigorous verification and standards process.”
That, and a visit from a Trump family lawyer
Correct. Melania Trump won her defamation lawsuit against a tabloid within this year. It’s best to go after these clowns now because once he’s out of office, the daggers will be out.
don’t worry about it Larry, the rest of the dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia picked up your fake “news” anyway and won’t be bothering with unnecessary retractions ...
“.... once hes out of office, the daggers will be out.”
I believe it’s more than just the punishment of the dishonesty. There is the standard of news proficiency which the liberal media like MSNBC has blatantly ignored because too many times they have gotten away with lies and defamation for political purposes which alleviates them of the responsibility of journalism. And the stupidity is they are misreporting something in the same way that they are trying to display as Trump’s actions to falter an election which has been proven incorrect.
I, also, believe that every time one of these political prostitutes of the left that do this should be openly and publicly point out so that not only will it force them to do their job correctly to save publication, but they will be forced at that time to accurately reporting the news so all the voter, all of them, can start on the same page to better improve our decision in the best interest of the country and not for one party or the other.
We are not supposed to be voting on a party, we are hiring people to do a job of running the country the way we, the employers, wish it to be done. And trying to influence a hiring of those people by lying is morally wrong.
Unfortunately, according to a supreme court case in the 2012 decision in United States v. Alvarez, lying is protected during a political campaign by politicians. But, as this type of instance does not fall under that due to the media not running, they are not protected by first amendment rights when it violates fraud and slander laws. Besides, it is a solid case when the media attempts to get someone fired or not hired as is this instance.
So let’s clean the slate and let the truth get out. And every time one of these agenda dealing media primadonna activists says it wrong, take some money and some reputation away from them that they obviously didn’t earn....for the people.

I was thinking, if the Deutsch Bank did have Trump’s Tax returns, and it did have evidence of what O’Donnell is alleging, then Trump and his sons would be kinda stupid to file a lawsuit since there would be discovery, and all this info now immiscible.
OTOH, maybe that shows Trump’s innocence.
Somebody who posts on 4chan or 8chan (I don’t really know what those sites are) has taken credit for this fake news. Apparently O’Donnell asks for people to send him news tips, so this guy decided to send in this story, just to see what would happen. O’Donnell loved the idea of it being true so much that he ran with it, no questions asked. I guess he felt it was an acceptable journalistic endeavor because he said twice, “If true” when he reported the bogus story.
Judy, how’s it going?
Amazing last night on Fox starting with Lou thru to Laura.
CNN and MSNBC see the IG report as full exoneration of Comey, while the rest of the true news media and anyone with half noodle for a brain, sees it as a scathing indictment of the man.
I can’t believe that he won’t go down along with the rest of them, for concocting this whole thing.
But the bigger fish is Brennan.
Hi nikos!
Going fine up here - how’s the go in your neck of the woods?
I didn’t get too upset about Comey not being indicted, as this was the same news we heard a month or so ago. He better get charged for something bigger!
