Hurricane Dorian battered St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and brushing Puerto Rico. Taking aim at the Florida Atlantic Coastline, Hurricane Dorian is projected to be a major hurricane (Category 3) at landfall.

No point in evacuating just yet given that the entire state of FL is inside the cone.
My relatives on the beach will be compelled to....
....Governor DeSantis has already declared a state of emergency
I wouldn’t sweet just yet unless you’ve got a brand new boat dock. You’re far inland and this thing could go literally anywhere.
I’m 5 minutes from a river and 20 minutes from the beach near Jax. Evacuated the last two hurricanes. I will ride this one out unless it is a monster cat 5. You have to have incredibly bad luck to get a direct hit on your property unless you are on the beach or a riverside.
I’m up here in Aiken County, SC, right across the Savannah River from Augusta, GA. Looks like this will move south of us. Praying for all those affected.

We evacuated twice in 2004......once to Jacksonville

I'm not that far inland, less that 60 miles from the Atlantic. The peninsula is only about 130 miles wide at that point. And very flat. No hills at all.
I have a concrete boat dock at our lake house 10 miles away but none here at the farm. Not an issue.
".... this thing could go literally anywhere...."
Yeah, I know. Been there, done that.

“Publix for various chocolate, check.”
Just had one open 3 miles from me. Bogo on Tillamook ice cream. Yumm. Visited their farm factory when I lived in WA. Did the tour, bought lots of cheese blocks and had fresh ice cream in the onsite store. Kudos to Publix for stocking Tillamook.
Looks ATT the eye will pass over my town. The water table is already up 2’ from the rains, now this. At least I got the lawn mowed today.
