Hurricane Dorian battered St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and brushing Puerto Rico. Taking aim at the Florida Atlantic Coastline, Hurricane Dorian is projected to be a major hurricane (Category 3) at landfall.

I took the hurricane shutters down but left them below the windows in case Dorian changes her mind.
Does he really use Turtle Wax on his head?
Yeah most likely we have so many extended hands out for freebees down here its truly sad....
Ok, NOW I know why every Sunday morning I wake up feeling sooooooo old!!
:)
You’re right - and looks like Bernie was onto all of it. He had the reason for the original westward track, the idea that the Keys low would lose control of the steering, and that the turn might happen sooner. Dramatic - and helpful - changes since just last night.
Now we just need to coax this thing to miss the OBX too.
Looks like you were right.
Fervent prayers for all good FReepers who may be impacted by Dorian...
Where are you finding his comments? I don’t see any updates at the usual places.
I’m a premium subscriber to weatherbell.com. He will post the Saturday summary later today if he hasn’t yet. Still predicting coastal impact but a direct hit seems less likely.
Thanks.
Sure looks like a Turtle Wax finish! Ha!
Thank you, FRiend!
Are we getting near Car 5?I am down the Jersey shore now.The weather is perfect.
Yes. Sustained winds are 150 mph, just 7 mph shy of Category 5.
Ohhh, that big sucker is headed up our way.Let’s hope it goes OTS.
Hurricane hunters just found 160 mph winds. May be upgraded at 2PM update. Godspeed to the people in the Bahamas.
Oh no! The Bahamas does need our prayers. I hope this monster goes out to sea and does not hit the Carolinas.
I was in South Florida from 1976 to 1980
From Coconut Grove to Del Rey Beach
When we bought groceries the paper bags had hurricane names and their tracks
Two did full circles
