With the latest projections perhaps I will be live streaming Dorian from Broward County. Yesterday it looked like it would be well north of me but now much closer. In fact one projection (the one furthest south) shows it going right over me.
Anyway, if I do live stream, I have a nice birds eye view from my upstairs window.

Do the forecasters know what they’re talking about? In the past few days, that storm went quite a bit north of what was predicted. If I were guessing, my guess wouldn’t be that it turns due west for a direct FL hit. But I know nothing, so I’m probably wrong.

They're also going to turn it around and put it back in the communities. I've weathered (pun intended) several hurricanes in NW FL, and after every one, Publix had trucked out bottled water and ice from the Jacksonville distribution center and was giving it away. This was before they had a retail presence in the area.

Take it from somebody used to looking at model guidance, there is no real certainty on this outcome, anything could happen and nothing is off the table (for FL, gulf coast, or southeast US). Can’t blame the forecasters, just too much spread in guidance. Some sort of clarity maybe by Saturday, by which time perhaps a 48h window for response. I wouldn’t advise anyone in FL to wait around, evacuation could be very tricky once the details become more obvious.

Time to start convincing my sister to leave her trailer just west of Orlando.
I have followed the news for deaths and injuries after every hurricane. It seems like trees falling on people and those living in trailers are the most reported.
By the way, Im sure you know that Governor Abbott of Texas is in a wheelchair. I was curious and researched what happened. He was walking or running outside after a Texas storm when he was 26 years old and in law school. A large tree branch fell on him, and hes been paralyzed ever since.
Your sister should seek out her nearest hurricane shelter in her town. Take a pillow/blanket/sleeping bag, a little suitcase with clothes, and her meds with her.

My cattle farm is in north central Florida, several miles outside a small town call Hawthorne. Where the red X is on this map.

that looks like models are pushing Dorian a wee bit more north of Lake Okeechobee. Do you concur?
