Not sure where that is without looking it up but if you live in Florida, you will experience hurricanes.
We've lived here since 2011 and this will be our third hurricane.

Hi NN thanks for what you do gal.
I think this will be a Melbourne/Orlando event. Just a guess but as good as anything noaa/nothing has. With the equipment that they have and the sat data to but the entire state in the bubble is pretty sad I would say. It's little more than COA,pathetic.
Looks like we get a pass down here for a change.

One thing that could help the entire state is that the forward movement of the storm is 13 knots(15 mph) if that keeps up it won’t be around that long to do any real damage unless it gets to be a 4.

So I've been off the thread and away from the news - did the models slip slightly South? It appeared before that it was headed directly towards the Cape. Thanks!

Your eyes aren’t lying to you. There is a jog southward in projected track. Check out the Florida radar loop at the top of the thread. It shows the track jogging south.

The person I addressed had ASKED for exactly such a thread. You find some objection to me pointing out a thread the poster had specifically asked for? Why is that exactly? You know that's crap. NautiNurse has been posting live hurricane threads for a long time. Nobody "asked" for it, it was sure to come even if THAT poster didn't know about it.
Besides, where were you during the Harvey thread? Did you take a snide tone on that one? Hmmmm?

Good point.
From my experience here, one never really knows where these hurricanes will eventually make landfall until they actually make landfall.
I've got a good generator that will run the entire house and well pumps, except the air conditioning. Never been more than three days without electric company power. But with the generator, it's a moot point. We've been lucky to have no property damage either. The biggest trouble is battening down the hatches before it hits and then cleaning up all of the tree debris that is on the ground afterwards.
