DENVER A decision by national Democrats to throw their support behind John Hickenlooper in Colorados U.S. Senate race sparked an intense email discussion among state Democratic Party officers over the weekend, with allusions to Nazism, criticisms of Hickenlooper and calls for formal opposition.
The emails offer a window into an intraparty conflict that is sure to spill out in public for weeks and months to come as Democrats debate who should be their nominee to take on Republican Sen. Cory Gardner.
Hickenlooper has made it clear that he neither understands nor cares about the true problems in our country, wrote Dana Torpey-Newman, chair of the Douglas County Democratic Party, and I object to being told that I, as a party chair, am unable to take sides in a primary, but the DSCC is able to put a thumb on the scale and force out our candidates who actually comprehend the deeper roots of the societal problems we face.
On Friday, a day after the former Colorado governor and Denver mayor joined the Senate race , the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee formally endorsed him over 11 other Democratic candidates in the contest to face Gardner

Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Dems everywhere want to lurch left and also replace as many whites in the dem party as they could with minorities.
It’s a Catastrophic plan.
Good.
I am so sorry to hear that the Maoists aren’t happy with Hickenlooper! /s
6 women candidates in Colorado’s 2020 Senate Democrat primary race urge DSCC to rescind Hickenlooper early endorsement
Democrats two most prominent words in their vocabulary: NAZI and RACIST
Well as an outsider I find this surprising. I thought he’d be welcomed back & handed the nomination.
*** CHICKENPOOPER ***
Another fine RAT selection to stir the radical left pot....so to speak.
Turns out they are all running for Senate, and don't want Chickenpooper running.
So basically the Democrats are giving themselves this choice:
Someone many people have heard of and has a good chance to win.
Or:
Someone nobody's heard of, who has no chance to win, but has a vagina.
So why hasn’t Dickenschlooper been replaced by a woman, yet? ;-D
The Democrat base is rabid, hard core leftists in Colorado (maybe everywhere).
The 11 primary candidates already running for the seat are mad at NY Chuck Schumer for pre-selecting their nominee / denying the primary process where the 11 would get media coverage.
Remember when NYC Bloomberg told Rolling Stone that he was sorry about the recalls of two state senators over the Democrat state legislatures gun-control laws, but added that their districts were so rural that, I dont think theres roads.
In Colorado, WE ( New York ) got a law passed...”
They shouldn’t call him a Nazi. They’re behind the times. They should call him a white nationalist or white supremacist. ;-D
This is partially about the 11 wanting media exposure and respect - like Fredo.
I was hoping for a Kaysuck/Chickenpooper 3rd party Presedential bid.
It’s funny, because I’ve never heard any of them named until today.
smh
Trump’s deal: they give up on Hickenklooper and we give up on Gardner.
that’s good with me
“Well as an outsider I find this surprising. I thought hed be welcomed back & handed the nomination.”
It all started with Hickenlooper declaring himself too important to run for Senate:
“Former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, campaigning Saturday in Iowa ahead of a possible presidential run, dismissed the idea that he might end up running for Senate instead in 2020.
Im not cut out to be a senator, said Hickenlooper, who added that he loves putting administrative teams together. Senators dont build teams. Senators sit and debate in small groups, which is important, right? But Im not sure thats my Im a doer. Thats what gives me joy.”
Lots of Dems in Colorado took that to heart and started up campaigns for Senate, and now the DNC is trying to order them out of the campaign and order the Colorado Dem Party to get behind a guy who said he wasn’t going to run because he was “not cut out to be a senator
You can’t really blame them for getting POed, though Hick probably does have the best chance of winning. Still, it’s a really nice thing for us for them to start off with this kind of intramural infighting ... probably gonna be some butthurt that some people aren’t gonna get over ...
Primary should be fun.
Colorado allows Republicans and Independents to vote in Dem primary (and vice versa).
Cant wait to vote for biggest loser.
